Taken down a side road near Campania not far from historic Richmond, Tasmania.
Positano, Amalfi coast, Italy. One can never stop photographing it…
Amalfi, south Italy. Picturesque medieval towns Amalfi and Positano, with their colorful houses stacked against the cliff are among the most photographed little towns in the world. Rather than going for brigh colors, here I tried for a different photo and different atmosphere.
A little piazza in south Italy, lit up and decorated for the fiesta

The cause of much destruction to Pompei and Herculaneum in 79ad, this gentle giant Mount Vesuvius stands tall, towering over Naples. The views from the top of the volcano are atleast 180 degrees, of the sprawling city and the glistening Bay of Naples. Truely breathtaking and well worth the short walk!
Saw these old farm sheds when passing through Campania which is North of Hobart in Tasmania. Cannon 450D with 18-55mm lens.
How many of us remember the old Outhouse and the nightly trip in the dark with spiders and all. Cannon 450D with 18-55mm lens.
Taken September 26, 2008 This is the city of Pompeii, Italy, and the innocent looking mountain in the background is Mount Vesuvius. But this isn’t just some pretty scenery. Mount Vesuvius is a stratovolcano that erupted in AD 79 and destroyed the city; hence this is a shot of the destructor and it’s aftermath. Currently it isn’t erupting, and Pompeii is now a hot tourist attraction.
Taken on September 27, 2008 with an Olympus FE-220 looking up. During our Southern Italy Trip we stayed in Paestum, and on each day took the coach bus for one day trips in another city. On this day we got dropped off to take a ferry to Capri. During the ferry ride we pass by a lot of mountainous islands, and the cities are built upon them. It is fascinating to see these buildings as though they are stacked upon one another. This stop was at Amalfi. / / Also available at Zazzle / / / See my Italy calendar for more italy pics Or just browse my works by category: Featured/Popular Early Works [pre-university] / Origami / Drawings,Paintings and Graphics / Abstract Photography / Guessing Games / / Flowers, Trees and Plants / Water and Waterscapes / Scenery/Skyscapes / Light, Shadow, and Reflections / Still Life Living Creatures / Human Portrait Japanfluence / Canada / Europe
