A young reticulated giraffe almost disappears when standing against it’s mother. Captive animals.

You’d think that with their bright coloring, the red fox would stand out like a sore thumb and find it hard to hide. Not so. Despite their color, they blend in remarkably well. I interrupted her search for breakfast this morning, briefly, but she didn’t seem to mind much. Wheatridge, CO

This is an Eastern collared lizard, and this particular specimen belongs to a subspecies of the broader genus that inhabits the few remaining glade habitats in southern Missouri’s Ozark Mountains. I personally really like this image because the colorful, lichen covered rocks are just as beautiful as the lizard, and the two together make for a special treat! / /

I took four pictures of this little guy, and this is the only one that you can find him easily in. Once he crouched still in the leaves, he was practically invisable. No wonder it is so startling to come upon one in the woods, and seemingly flush them out from beneath your own feet. The loud flutter of their wings when they take off is quite alarming. This design also available as T-shirts. All artwork is © Rhonda L. Hall, All Rights Reserved. You may not use, replicate, manipulate, redistribute, or modify this image without my express consent.
