A new illustration I’ve been working on, continuing to experiment with some slightly different ways of working.
Dyin’ Alone the shade may hide you / the light may guide you / your friends may find you / and don’t think twice but / everyone dies alone —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Location: Loch Lomond, Trossachs National Park, Scotland © Donald Cameron 2009 / Monophotography.co.uk This image was featured on the Redbubble homepage, / Friday 5th June 2009 /

Oh man I’ve been dying to work on one of my illustrations lately. In between all the experimenting with my video art and everything involved with my Uni major project, it feels really good to sit down and work on one of these. / The title comes from the lyrics in a song called Unstoppable by Mako, written by Declan O’Shea. The song is one of my all time favorites, beautifully written with a strong emotive undertow that carries through the track. / My thanks to Declan for writing such a great song. It’s very inspiring to me.

Ah yes, the question no philosopher dare answer, nor any priest dare ask. But in times of turmoil and personal need, there is only one question to guide us home. What would MacGyver do?

Another experiment, just going outside of what I know and playing with some different ways of creating my works. Thanks for viewing.
I’m really glad I was able to complete this image. It’s one I’ve been working on for quite some time now and almost scrapped it a number of times. I actually made the decision to trash this and I’d begun working on a new piece but I couldn’t move on until this one was finished. So I went back to it and all of a sudden it just started working for me seemingly out of nowhere. It’s ironic that the decision to scrap the work was all I needed to fuse my brain into making it work. art plays little tricks on me sometimes. :)
Part 3 of a series I’m working on titled “Once Human” / Thanks for viewing.
Black is in darkness / where secrets will hide / a passionate grief / an immeasurable sigh / we forget, we forget / and it takes by surprise White is in light / where truth will be told / stumbling past younger days / until we’re too old / we remember, we remember / and it breaks at the soul A mystery deepens / where we’re fooled by the sight / of no light in pure dark / and no dark in pure light / yet they mix, yet they mix / come the falling of night —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—- Location: Broughty Ferry, Tayside, Scotland © Donald Cameron 2009 / Monophotography.co.uk
I came across this at the exact moment the incoming tide began clashing with the rock and swirling around behind it, so quickly set up the camera to record the movement. The unusual cloud patterns added to the effect, more so through the long exposure. I’ve been back to this spot twice since and it’s been nothing like this, sometimes the best shots are the ones that are most unexpected.
