Taken in the bush near Alice Springs. Waiting for the sun to come up and saw this dead tree and just had to take a shot with all the colours behind it.

A photograph of a bubble on some twigs….much like the other one but this one had a lot more reflections and colors. You can see my camera and my hand in the middle as well. / It is very yellow, I don’t know how that happened, maybe the gloomy grey skies. Most of them are clear with blue and pink streaks. This one reminded me of colored mercury glass. / (I added shadow to bring out the colors more.)

This picture was taken a few years ago after a really big snowstorm. I believe we got close to a foot of snow that day. Maybe more. The brave were out taking photographs and playing. It was a magical day.

I’ve been hanging out to see of my new D-SLR would take infrared images….we’ve had heavy rain here for almost 2 weeks..thank goodness the sun is shining today. This is my first attempt. I set a custom white balance (with the help of the manual) and trotted off down to the lake. This is a 20sec exposure at f/6.3. Focal length 18mm and ISO 400. I channel swapped the colours in Paintshop Pro and this is what I got. Haven’t fiddled at all apart from that. This is what the original looked like straight off my camera (with a custom WB) I had to set the camera to manual, focus first and then attach the filter. A bit of fuss and bother as I never had to do that with my old FujiFilm, but I suppose I will get used to it.

Just before the storm came in and sent us scurrying down the mountain for cover.

To give an indication of the sheer size and scale of this cloud mass, on the bottom right of this image there are some full-sized pine trees and that small white dot next to them is a huge lighthouse sitting on the end of an island. . . Digital Camera

Photo of my eye. I had a hard time choosing the photo with the most reflections in it but this one caught the camera and my hand the best, I also caught some sky, clouds, green bushes and the trees. It was a fun experiment but never again…....cropping 150 photos to see what I saw….ha ha besides I have plenty to last.

Back in the deep summer, when all were in blossom and the leaves were rich in color and taste, the doe had plenty of time to experience the “other things” in life than just search for food. One day she decided to figure out what creature it was that I carried around with me and pushed at the top of the “head” from time to time to make a sound. She came so close to the lens that I had to quickly change to a wide-angle one in order to take this photo. Right after that instant, she took another step further to “pat” my “pet” with her tongue! :) Donation to charity / 50% of the proceeds of the sale of this image will be donated to Algonquin Park

Well just for something completely different from the last lot of dark and mysterious Infrared landscapes…. this is the first of a little run of colour images from a wonderful little Holga toy camera. This image was however also taken in the same location in the Hunter Valley at the place I think of as daniland. When I go to stay there I get to sleep in the cutest most beautiful little cabin that is attached to the main studio. Out the front of this cabin is a little wooden porch that looks over a dam and across a deep and heavily wooded valley. There is a little table with some chairs there and on the table is this lovely little bonsai tree. On this particular morning there was a very heavy fog….. not unusual for this location even in the height of summer…. although it will burn off in the sun in a couple of hours after sunrise. But I just love the way the fog makes the landscape so intensely mysterious and just a tiny bit scary… great for taking photo’s even when you can hardly see the ground infront of you…...

This is a photo taken just before dawn in the woods of Mont Laurier, just before one reaches Val D’or, where one drives in the nearby Canadian national park for hours with only nature and wildlife. It’s a winter morning at about 5:30am and the camera is pointed away from where the sun was to come up.
