i love the tones and shadows in this shot. i chose to make it a mono, which is the only processing i did, beacuse i want it to be seen for its tonality and play with light/shadow, not as just a flower. i love making b/w shots of flowers; they are more than their riotous colors…they are lines, curves, textures, highlights…..they are art

I’ve bought six new IKEA glasses but one of them got broken when I washed it for the first time. Of course, I wouldn’t just throw it away, as well as my daughter couldn’t throw away a Camellia blossom she has found fallen at the ground two days later… / I believe these two imperfect subjects made a perfect combination. What do you think?

The Double Pink Camelia- another spring flower – heavy with raindrops- won’t take much more before it drops off but there are masses of buds yet to flower no worries -I won’t photograph them all lol!!! taken witha Fuji A600 Finepix Digital Camera.

I put aside my coloured pencils to do this one in acrylic paint (as indicated in the title). As I have mentioned before, I rarely copy photographs as they are. I use the photograph as a diving board into the pool of my imagination. I’d like to thank Kristina K. for giving me permission to use this photo of hers and I hope she isn’t too disappointed with what I did with it.
