Gallery 1 / Gallery 2 / Gallery 3 / Gallery 4 / Gallery 5 / Gallery 6 Again I was so lucky to be there at that giving moment, I always wanted to take this kind of photo , I see this one as one of my best , the funny thing is I did not want to go out that day to take photos , I must say thank you to my best friend who took me out for a drive in the desert. see full screen for best viewing. The image won 41 awards , and the hall of fame on eyefetch.com for better viewing See it in ” View larger” / —-—-—-—-—-—- / Lianne / wrote an amazing poem about the desert that I love alot … / please visit her page for more amazing work of hers. / -—-—-—-—-—-— Desert Wanderings Are the rare oases enough to / sustain the desert nomad? / And where is the desert boundary – / would the journeyman perceive / its end, or like me, see Canaan / and think it only temporary respite – / can he see beauty where I see none, / sculpture where I see sand – / has he more praise for palm trees / than I for all of Canaan’s promise? Deserts are but dry expanses of the mind / the hypochondria boredom breeds, / unirrigated months, parched and barren / where there is naught to slake one’s thirst / and coolness only stones beneath one’s tongue, / monotonous thoughtscapes, uninspired / wishing for rivers, never neared mirages / and longings so undefined / that even prayer is sterile. What happens to dreams that die? / Are they reborn in other minds / nourished in more fertile ground – / do the sands that cover them / windshift / reviving them again, or are they / preserved, like dried straw flowers, / still rich in color / but sapless, too fragile now to grow?

This is the shot you must take if you go to Broome… the camel train at sunset. The tide was on the way out and the residual water gave great reflections.

This is a shot of the well known Treasury of Petra, “The Rose City”, in Jordan. It was caught just at the end of the day as the sun was setting, the crowds dispersing and the camels resting! Of all the things I have seen, this is definately a highlight. The feeling I got as I walked down the narrow siq and got a first glimpse of the Treasury from between the rocks is one I’ll never forget!

The survival of the fittest is the ageless law of nature, but the fittest are rarely the strong. The fittest are those endowed with the qualifications for adaptation, the ability to accept the inevitable and conform to the unavoidable, to harmonize with existing or changing conditions…..... Gallery 1 / Gallery 2 / Gallery 3 / Gallery 4 / Gallery 5 / Gallery 6 ============================== / Best viewed in large view for details My talanted friend Sally Omar Took few hours to come up with a very moving poem … Sally you write in words what i see in images … love your work my friend. / —-—-—-—-—-- / ALONE A camel in the desert all Alone / Trudging ahead on his own / Afraid to be alone just as you and I / Being alone his soul will die / Searching around for a friendly face / Lost in such a lonesome place / There is no one anywhere in sight / The road ahead is so dull, not bright / A camel being so much like we / All alone losing his identity / Keeps fighting the urge to sit down / Just hoping someone’s around / So we must understand his plight / Should he go left or should he go right / His heart now carrying a heavy load / Walking ahead on this lonesome road / Just like the camel, you and me / Searching ahead trying to see / If there is another soul out there / That will help set the soul free / ALONE.
