Camden town Market, London
Rainy days are good for B&W photography especially capturing the high street in Camden London.
When you begin to walk around the new part of Camden Market you come across some magnificent horse sculptures which are amazing! This shot helps you realize the lifesize magnificence of these beautiful creatures.
This is a photo of a group of punks at camden markets. The story behind this photo is a funny one. If you look at the picture you can see one punk looking and smiling at my camera, this is because he has just had a bit of a laugh at my expense. I had asked if I could take a photo of them, and he had said that I’d have to pay them all one pound. I told him that I only had a bit of small change or a 5 pound note, so he told me just to go and take the photo. So I went across the road to take the photo when he told his mates that I was taking the photo. So a group of about 5 of them came over to me threatening to bash me unless I paid all of them, I told his mates that I had a five pound note or some loose change they told me to give them the change, take the photo and piss off! So in the photo you can see the guys that hassleded me counting the money I gave them and the guy that is smiling is the one that stiched me up!
Camden Markets, London. I was in that kind of mood, which is odd considering the generally goth/emo/punk/alternative lifestyle I was surrounded by.
I lived in Camden for 3 years, (05-08) and I’m really going to miss this place, just can’t believe i never upload any of my Camden photos onto Redbubble! So here comes the series! I took this on June 9th 2008after my last exam in my final year of the Veterinary Sciences degree. It was such a surreal day, all my friends sat by the canal celebrating end of exams with some drinks, signing our year books and even saying some final goodbyes. The canal bus pulled out from under the bridge, right across to where we were sat and did a big U-turn- he came so close I thought he was going to hit us- he didn’t, but his bloody waves did! Our feet got soaked! Good thing is…I’ll only be 15 minutes out of London…so I guess this isn’t such a nostalgic photo…just yet.

Second installment of my Camden Series. I want to show you the world I’ve lived in the past three years. It’s a vibrant, life-fulled place, that i miss already. I often took long walks late at night/early in the morning when i couldn’t sleep. I’d walk along the lock, through the empty markets and streets. This one particular, rainy night, these yellow doors really stood out amongst the sepia-feeling atmosphere.

/ The Camden Markets are a number of adjoining large markets in Camden Town near the Hampstead Road Lock of the Regent’s Canal (which is usually called Camden Lock), often called collectively “Camden Market” or “Camden Lock”. The stalls sell crafts, clothing, bric-a-brac, fast food, and other things. It is the fourth most popular visitor attraction in London, attracting approximately 100,000 people each weekend. It began in its present form in 1974 when the Camden Lock crafts market was formed. There was a small local food market in Inverness Street long before that; as of 2008 this market retains only three fruit and vegetable stalls in addition to stalls like those in the other markets. / Camden Market is made up of five markets that are all together in one place. Camden Lock Market, The Stables Market, Camden Canal Market, Buck Street Market, Electric Ballroom Market and Inverness Street Market. The shops along Chalk Farm Road are also open at the weekends and have their frontages wide open in a semi-market style. It is difficult, if not impossible to tell where one market ends and another begins.

This is a popular harbor in Camden, Maine…. Lots of boat activity, both private and business vessels. I never tire of sitting on the wharf watching the ships/boats of all sizes meander around each other… of course the homemade ice cream isn’t bad either!!! Canon Rebel XTi EOS / lens 28-135
