As I sit on the stern of my ship, I think of yester morn when all was good. / We’d traveled a long voyage. / My men grew as mates. / Bounds of treasures we’d found made for a drunkered night. / But of night last, a squall came upon us and two overboard. / As fast as the wind arose, and water rushed over was my men gone. / My ship tossed from port to starboard we hadnt time to turn her a bow. / Till late we search, not a thread to be found. / Not a sail touched, nor a rope broke it was like a dream gone arye. / So i drop these two coins in memberance into the sea, to ye brave men who gave their lives, / and promise to add a share to their families as deserved. / Now its time to set sail homeward….. / Steady as she goes…..through the Calm Sea At Dawn. Rock formations at low tide. Taken with my 5D and the EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM lens. This is a 82mm lens and I am currently using Cokin Filters (handheld).....uuuuurrgh. I am very keen to get a Lee Neutral Density Filter set. If you have this setup I would be very interested to hear from you what experiences you have made in regards to vignetting and what Lee components you have mounted on your lens. Thanks heaps

This weekend I did something very very silly…. / I took my new camera on a jet ski in a plastic container (i.e not waterproof housing) and got some snaps of Port Phillip Bay. We only nearly fell of the jet ski, hmmm…. repeatedly. I hope it was worth it! Thanks to my Jetski driver and all round relaxing company James

I shot this at the southern tip of Tasmania around 9pm Daylight savings time. This is a bay called Surveyor’s Bay. Tassie is just so gorgeous. Pristine, untouched (almost) and wonderfully peaceful. Yup, that’s what it is…a sunset from the rocks on Schoodic peninsula in July…so wonderfully mellow there…possibly my favorite place. That’s Cadillac mountain in the distance (the main part of Acadia National Park). Schoodic is the ‘quiet’ part of Acadia, less frequented by noisy tourists… / This area is threatened by a proposed 3000+acre ‘eco resort’ for the rich to be located on and just off this peninsula…an Italian investor wants to build it…it would totally destroy the beauty and peacefulness of this wonderful place…the locals are mostly opposed to it, but in the ‘land of greed’, where there’s money to be made for those that already have too much, you can be sure it will eventually happen, sadly… ~ please view large ~ Schoodic peninsula, Acadia National Park, near Winter Harbor, Maine, US / 7/09 / Canon EOS T1i, 18-55 (18), auto landscape / thanks for the look, my friends!
