Matilda Shields Gregory’s husband walked out on her and a small son. Her brothers threw together the resemblance of a cabin that sits in the back. This is where she was living when she met Henry Whitehead. It wasn’t long till romance was in the air. It was handed down thru the families Henry promised to build her the best cabin in Cades Cove, and well he did. This is thought to be one of two sawn log homes in the Smokies. It is the only one standing today….located in Cades Cove, Great Smoky Mountain N.P…..shot a couple weeks ago while shooting with Sherri and Ronnie Hamilton
This was one of the most serene places I have been to.

I discovered this location while on holiday in New Zealand. I found it a very peaceful and serene setting. I was really attracted to rocks at the waters edge which I saw as stepping stones out into the middle of the lake. I visited this location on the previous morning however the clouds were completely covering the mountain range. I decided to return the following day and I was greeted with this wonderful sunrise.

The North Thompson River is one of the major river systems in south-central British Columbia, and is named after David Thompson, an explorer,fur-trader and surveyor who mapped over 3.9 million square kilometers of western Canada and the United States, and has been described as the greatest land geographer who ever lived. Among his accomplishments, he was the first white man to navigate the Columbia River from it’s source in the B.C. mountains, all the way to it’s final meeting with the Pacific Ocean. / For anyone who would be interested, there is an excellent story about this remarkable man at : / http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Thompson_%28explorer%29 This photo was taken Sept. 3, 2009, with a Sony DSCF828 camera.
All these shots were taken in beautiful Scotland where the people are friendly, the views are out of this world, the food is fantastic and the weather is crap. LOL
