My family and friends were enjoying a few days of skiing and I ventured out in the dark to see what I could locate to photograph. A sunrise such as this is a rare event. Good fortune found me in one of favourite spots that morning. A primeval atmosphere seems to pervade the image. One could imagine a similar scene millions of years ago.

The little jetty, trees and shoreline, just below the Charlemont homestead are all mirrored in the waters of Thompsons Creek, in the stillness of the morning, just after dawn.
