Callie lives at a group home with developmentally disabled elderly adults. They rescued her from an animal shelter that was going to put her to sleep because she is old and has some medical issues. Callie actually has one blue eye and one green eye.

This is a picture I took of my cat Magi (like a magician). He was playing on top of the slot machines and I snaped a shot of him looking down inbetween two of them :) He is so cute!

  • This is a pastel drawing I did over the summer in my pastel class. It is a master copy so I am not selling it. Master copy= I drew it from another artist work. I am not sure who the original artist is to contact him or her so it’s not for sale. But please let me know what you think of it. I love all of the colors in the stream… wish I were in that place. This is the original picture

  • Callie
    by Rachel Stickney

    US$3.42–US$91.20

Our four year old labrador retriever mix enjoying the sunshine. Callie came into our lives when we decided about three years ago that we needed a dog in our family again. Our German Shepherd had died at the age of seven in late 1997. At the time my kids were babies and I couldn’t handle any more work! Instead of getting a puppy again, we researched rescue groups in our area on the internet. We had recently had a bad experience with a GSD biting my daughter so we picked labradors since they are very friendly looking and not scary. We contacted several groups and visited several foster families with the dogs. My kids liked Callie the best and she seemed ready to leave with us right away as she jumped right in my open van door while the kids were playing with her. We don’t know anything about her former owners, perhaps someone who didn’t train her very well, crate her, or had to move away. She was a bit destructive when we first got her. Other than being a little wary around the kids (ages 14 and 11 now) every now and then, she’s got a great temperament. For some unknown reason, she likes me the best and is like my shadow. She follows me all around the house, even to the bathroom! The only bad thing is, I almost trip over her a lot! She’s a funny dog sometimes – the two different foster moms who had her also had a lot of other labs waiting for adoption. They lived out in the country and Callie swam in the ponds with the other dogs everyday. We don’t have any pond for her to swim in since we live in the suburbs, and she doesn’t like the plastic kiddie pool we bought her. Guess the water’s too clean! Last summer we took her to a pond down the road and she would not get in the water any higher than the bottom of her belly! She ignored the ducks and wouldn’t even go after dog biscuits tossed a little farther out in the pond. The fish ate them. What kind of retriever is she? LOL. / —-—-— Featured 10/4/08 in the Rescued Pets group Canon EOS Rebel XSi (450D) / f/5.6 / 1/250 sec / Canon EF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 IS USM lens @ 300 mm / August 2008 © Rachel Stickney 2008

Much nicer than my copy of it! / I have looked up the name on the picture that I beieve says M. Hiekkinen and have found no results for this artist, but if you know of this artist please contact me so that I may add a link to their page and contact him or her. Thanks!

  • This is a vine charcoal drawing. It was drawn from a picture my art teacher supplied.. The original artist is Albrecht Durer, one of Germany’s most famous artists. He lived in the 16th Century and died of pneumonia after going to look at a stranded whale off the Baltic sea. Thank you Fiona O’Beirne for finding out who the original artist was :) You should check out her art as well :) Fiona O’Beirne

  • This is another vine harcoal drawing I did in the fall of 2007 in my Drawing 1 class. This is a portrait of the lute player Mascheroni by Annibale Carracci. Annibale (1560-1609) along with his brother formalised art teaching lessons. Hence alot of the lesson we learn today are the same ones the Carracci brothers devised. Thank you Fiona O’Beirne for finding out who the original artist was :) You should check out her art as well :) Fiona O’Beirne Thank you again Fiona :)

Poeple are so much more interesting to draw… at least to me thay are. This is one of the few projects I hated drawing in my drawing 1 class I took in the Fall of 2007. My teacher set up a bunch of groups of bottles around the room and had us draw them. This is what mine looked like.. boring!
