I always liked calligraphy (which is the art of beautiful writing using signs), and in many cultures (especially oriental ones is considered an art). / This is one of my last designs, which I am most proud of. - La caligrafía (que es el arte de escribir empleando bellos signos), siempre me ha gustado, y en muchas culturas (sobre todo las orientales es considerada un arte “de facto”). This is a Japanese Calligrapher, working in his studio in Kitakata, Japan in December 2005, I took this picture using only natural light. The art of calligraphy is called Shōdo and is still popular at present days in Japan.

Part of a “splashed ink” series based on a Chinese technique of splashing ink onto paper and creating images out of it. I in turn painted these images onto canvas with oil paints.
