My calico cat, Foxy, aka, “Stupid Cat”, sees the world upside down; at least she does in this photo, taken by my daughter. With her permission, I cropped and ‘painted’ it in photoshop.
My tortoiseshell cat, Bugsy, giving me a dirty look when I snapped a picture of her. * I added this pic before, but removed it because my ‘enhancements’ didn’t work. This one isn’t ‘photoshopped’ to death. :)

Meet my Scorpio persian cat “Calico” who has enough cattitude to take on all comers! I’m told that we share this expression, a-la owners taking after their pets, but who taught whom? Calico is a dilute calico tortiseshell – she has a cream gene imposed over the normal torti colours, making her smoke grey/apricot on white instead of black/ginger. She is also called by her Indian name “Runs Too Fast” when her back legs overtake her front legs on the way down the staircase – she used to do this a lot as a kitten, but has mostly outgrown this embarrassing habit now (given she is now 13yo, you’d hope so!) I also own 2 of her daughters: Ghost Dancer and A-Wahoo
Stunning animal this one, its colour comes off with each shed. One special animal..
the Cat—she’s fat, / and she doesn’t like it / When we tell her she’s that! EXPERIMENTAL BECAUSE: It’s the first time I’ve used a fractile as a background for an essentially flat drawing. I got playing around with one of what I had thought of as one of my “simple” programs and found that it wasn’t the program that was “simple”! It was just one more of the many “shorts between the earphones” that I’ve experienced in my life. . .
My 2 Finches are named Pete and Repete. / Pete seems to be giving Baby Love the big -eye. / ( as in CAT!...eye say U b outta here…)

I was looking through some older photos that I’ve taken, and I LOVE this one!!! These were the kids two kittens, Sunny (the yellow tabby male), and Rain (the Calico female). Logan named Sunny, and Kloe named Rain. We had them for sometime until Rain kept having kittens, and really ended up wanting to be an inside cat, and we couldn’t do that. So we gave her to my cousin who wanted an inside Calico cat. :o) She’s still going strong!! Sunny however; grew up and decided to roam….and never came home one day. Not sure what happened out here in the country….one only knows. I couldn’t resist capturing them sleeping so closely on this day (1-5-02). Too cute!! They were stuck at the hip when they were young!! /
Always strike a pose, even when your sleeping, cause you never know who’s watching….purrrrr….
Remember what I said about always striking a pose? Well I mean it! You may not be as cute as me…but if think you are…you will be…purrr… lol!! ;]
Tortoiseshell describes a coat coloring found almost exclusively in female cats. Cats of this color are mottled, with patches of red and black, chocolate, or cinnamon. They are sometimes called torties for short. The term “tortoiseshell” (also called calimanco or clouded tiger in North America) is typically reserved for cats with brindled coats that have relatively few or no white markings. Those that are largely white with red and black patches (rather than a brindled aspect) are described as tortoiseshell-and-white (in the United Kingdom) or calico (in the United States). Tortoiseshells and calicos are not specific breeds of cat. The tortoiseshell markings appear in many different breeds. This pattern is especially preferred in the Japanese Bobtail breed. This is another stray kitten that we found in the barn yesterday morning. I am getting her all of her shots and spayed so she will not have unwanted kittens herself. She has been named “Tortellini.” Her mother and father are both very wild feral cats that show up here from time to time. She is lucky and will not have to live like they do. There is no animal shelter in our county so the cats that nobody wants just run wild and either starve, get sick, become coyote food, or get shot for being on someone’s land. “Tortellini” will not know a life like that. She will be a spoiled rotten pet from now on. :) Postage stamps featuring this image are available here

Today I had the opportunity to take photos of someones new little calico persian kitten. :) This customer saw my photos of Paris and contaced me and wanted me to take photos of her new kitten. I was so honored and so excited. This is one of the many photos that will be shown to the new owner. Just an adorable little girl. 6 1/2 weeks old. What a little beauty. :) I sure hope the customer will be pleased with the photos…:)
