I’ve been playing with an older Minolta flash on my Canon 50D. I’m considering buying a new flash, but I still want to practice more, and be 100% that I really NEED or even WANT one. Flash fired and bounced off wall or ceiling, can’t remember which. Acrylic painting of a calico cat watching the sky covered with flying dandelion seeds. It is on 11×14 inches 140 lb. cold press watercolor paper.
Size: 6×6 inches / Medium: Acrylic / Support: Ampersand Gessobord This is Cali. She has such an intense stare. When we got Cali 14 years ago, she was very pregnant. A few days later, she gave birth to four kittens. My husband and I decided to find homes for three and keep one with Cali because we read that it was very traumatic for a mother to be separated from all of her babies. We totally agree; there is no question about that. The one we kept is Hunter. Yes, the one in the painting titled “My Precious Hunter.”

Painting of a calico and a tabby cats sitting together
Oil on wood, As I am going through a cat painting phase, I’d thought I’ll post this one. It is one of my early cats painted some time ago. First of all I cut a 1 inch piece of pine wood out with my jigsaw, sanded it and then painted this image. I was going to make a doorstop with it. Some how it never made life as a doorstop and sits on the window sill instead. :) ~ Anni
This is Mia .... she has been called a Dilute Calico, a Ragdoll, or perhaps she may even be a mixed breed of sorts. Whatever she is, she is the most photogenic kitty, and we love her like crazy. I believe she turned 9 last month…. We’ve had her since she was 2.
My Calico cat Callie taken last year.

Ragdoll, Dilute Calico – mixed breed… who knows what she is. / She is just BEAUTIFUL. =)
This sweet little kitty is no longer with us. At the tender age of 4, she developed an unusual lung problem that would have required her to go through too much suffering; so we had her put down. She was the sweetest, most wonderful kitty I’ve ever known and I miss her dearly. R.I.P. Smudge (a.k.a. Mudgie)
Kirara’s enjoying a cup of tea : )
