Sunrise December 19, 2007 Calgary, Alberta, Canada / My sky shots are 100% natural and have not been altered or enhanced.
Now this IS my desktop photo and is one of my favorites, obviously. / I just wish I had taken this at a higher resolution. / The Kananaskis is the foothills area of the Rockies southwest of Calgary Alberta. There is a wonderful road from Longview to Canmore which has some of the most spectacular and available scenery for shutterbugs. A sunny day is just a recipe for a wonderful day of photography.
Managed to catch this gorgeous sunset on the Glenmore reservoir in Calgary with the sailboats anchored for the night.
F e a t u r e d in the JPG CAST-OFFS GROUP – Accepted into the Fine Art of Photography Group / Thank You! (Mar 3/09) This was my first live stage shoot – a friend’s daughter is one of the cowgirls. They are the YOUNG CANADIANS, part of the annual Calgary Stampede (which is much like Mardi Gras only with Spurs).
This striking image was taken in Calgary at sunset. / There was no post-editing done other then sharpening and a border added to the original. / The sky was really that colour!!
Beautiful Kananaskis Country is located south-west of Calgary, Alberta. This area has the most gorgeous scenery of the Rocky Mountains, lakes, rivers and streams. Wildlife abounds. Dynamic Photo HDR / / Framed Print
I saw this home sitting all alone at the base of a mountain on the way to Bragg Creek in Alberta and thought it looked just like a postcard.

Bowness Park, Calgary, Alberta circa 1972. / This is a shot I took many, many years ago and I have tried to replicate its beauty countless times. / This is the kind of shot that stands the test of time and will always remain a favorite.
Another beautiful Glenmore reservoir sunset with the sailboats moored and the Rocky Mountain horizon taken in Calgary, Alberta.

in hockey parlance is the Goalie. This is one of the best, Mikka Kiprusoff, of the Calgary Flames at last night’s game at the Saddledome against the Anaheim Ducks. Kipper played well but Anaheim did some pretty passing and scored three against him, plus an empty-netter. The Flames lost 4-1, ruining a special evening to honor their Captain, Jarome Iginla, for playing the most games of any Flame, his 804th last night. / SC work.
Featured in DSLR Users Only – March 27, 2009 Taken in September 2006 in the beautiful Kananaskis Country southwest of Calgary, Alberta. Photo taken with Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT; Dynamic Photo HDR / / / Framed Print
- OR – make your own delightful caption….. LET’S HEAR THEM…. / I am sure you can all can think of several zingers for this one! This was too humorous not to post. / Taken at the Calgary Zoo.
/ Legendary Guitarist to Appear at Calgary Folkfest Legendary guitarist, flutist and vocalist James Blood Ulmer appeared as part of the 29th annual Calgary Folk Music Festival, July 24-27 at Prince’s Island Park in Calgary. Ulmer will be performing on Mainstage Saturday night and taking part in two afternoon workshops on Saturday (10:30, Field Law Stage 3) and Sunday (11:30, Broken City Stage 6). Considered an elder statesman of the blues as well as a Ulmer is a highly distinct and experimental artist known for his idiosyncratic guitar style blending free-jazz and blues. His eclectic career resembles the very nature of the Calgary Folkfest – edgy, original and packed with fusion-oriented twists and turns that transcend genres. Getting his start in gospel music, where he learned to play guitar and sing baritone in his father’s band, James went on to perform in R& B and organ-jazz ensembles. Over the years his career merged with groundbreaking jazz music figures such as Art Blakey, Joe Henderson, David Murray and Ornette Coleman, whom he regards an harmonic mentor, helping to shape his sound that critics have described his as “avant-gutbucket” and “punk jazz” while Ulmer has occasionally described it as “black rock.” James Blood Ulmer *has gained renewed popularity of recent years, his frequent European *tours with the Memphis Blues Band and recent releases such as his 2007 Bad Blood In The City, The Piety Street Sessions, a musical commentary on Hurricane Katrina, all bringing his name to the forefront. / FOR MORE INFO / www.hyenarecords.com /
