The common Marigold or is it?? / Calendula officinalis petals can be used as a replacement for, the really expensive, saffron in cooking. They can be made into an oil that can alleviate common skin complaints eg chaffing and nappy rash. The orange petals contain a stimulant, that when infused with boiling water and taken hot, helps induce persiration and bring down fevers. Great for stuffy noses and to bathe sore eyes. They can also be used in poultices for strains and bruises. /
