“What do I want to take home from my summer vacation? Time. The wonderful luxury of being at rest. The days when you shut down the mental machinery that keeps life on track and let life simply wander. The days when you stop planning, analyzing, thinking and just are. Summer is my period of grace.” / - Ellen Goodman Posterlounge Store – Portfolio/Blog – deviantART Shop / “To live a creative life, we must lose our fear of being wrong.”

There is no doubting the fact with their stocky appearance, sweeping horns and eyes that peep out through long shaggy fringes, Highland Cattle win hearts and are favorites amongst animal lovers around the World. What isn’t so obvious is the hardiness of this ancient breed. They were born and bred to deal with the extreme weather conditions of the Highlands and Islands of Scotland making them the hardiest breed of cattle in the world today. / Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.

a male cardinal, brilliant in red, has hgis big bright eyes on the lookout for predators. Cardinals love to sit in the pine tree to check the sunflower seed feeder for safety before coming in to feed. This affords an excellent opportunity for some candid, closeup shots. I love the way the pine needles frame the cardinal, and radiate out from him.
A 40cm x 40cm acrylic painting on canvas of maple leaves. It was raining here one day so I grabbed my camera and went and took some photos of the glistening Japanese Maple leaves in our garden. I decided to paint them on a canvas painted black to show off their colours and add contrast and was very pleased with the outcome. Maple Leaves See the leaves on the maple tree / The rain has gone, they blow wild and free… / Sparkling raindrops settle and gleam / A delightful show that must be seen! I have passed this tree for several years now, and finally stopped to take this photo, the clouds and lighting were just right. I darkened it in photoshop, and added the moon, which was taken from a moon shot of mine. /
