  • TABLE PORTION OF CALAMARI AT MAGGIANOS. DIGITAL PRINT.

  • There were a bunch of squid hung on a rope on the main walkway in Mykonos.

  • This ACEO is an original, NOT a reproduction. It is done on a heavy, pale blue card stock with ink and Prismacolor Colored Pencils. I usually don’t use colored pencils, so I was pleasantly surprised at how it turned out. I am doing 100 “themed” ACEOs as a creative exercise. This is theme 044- “Two Roads.” This is the first theme ACEO I’ve done that I’ve actually given a title to other than the theme. The TITLE of this card is “Two Roads Converge in a Sea of Calm.” It features Mel’gven the Mon Calamari Jedi and Andromeda, the Miraluka Jedi, resting on the bottom of some body of water. Was inspired by a role-playing session. For some reason, whenever I look at this card, I think “A bird may love a fish, but where would they live?” Card has been signed and dated on the back by me.

  • A single squid posing like pro.. Shot taken at Chirkewwa Arch on Malta’s north west coast.

  • Abstract in acrylic on canvas

  • Okay… so no one will agree with me but…. “OH GODDESS HE TURNED OUT SO DAMN CUTE!!” That’s what I think anyway. I’m unappy with a fair amount of it, but, overall he didn’t turn out badly for the first go at a Mon Calamarian. His robe turned out a little too large but that’s mainly because the material is really stretchy and I think I stretched it out too much. Oh well. shrug Otherwise though, I think he turned out pretty cool. :) His markings are awesome- I love the color and I love how they turned out overall. I could be slightly happier with his eyes, but oh well. He’s done, and cute, and oddly proportioned because of being a chibi plushie. XD I need to make an Admiral Ackbar too now. :D Mel’s player is going to let him live with me so he can be with Andromeda. Yay!

  • As Solidor, Jona, and Sorc infiltrated the west side of the Imperial compound, Mel’gven and Andromeda searched for appropriate transportation. As they slunk through the darkness, two spotlights suddenly shone on them from the nearby towers. “Andromeda! Go find a speeder!” Mel yelled as he pulled out his saber and began to block blaster bolts. Andromeda ran for a nearby speeder- leaping inside as Mel covered her. She started the speeder in a panic, slamming her foot down by accident and slamming the speeder back and forth into the two walls it was parked between. The console shorted out as the speeder crashed, throwing sparks up as the Miraluka Jedi jumped out of the speeder. Smoke began to rise from the destroyed vehicle. She pulled out her saber, ready to defend herself from shots. Before she could connect to the Force, however, Mel redirected one blaster shot fromt he tower shooting at him to the tower that was shooting at her, blowing the top of it up. The next shot from the tower ricocheted off of Mel’s teal saber, knocking a chunk from the top and sending the trooper with the blaster tumbling down. Andromeda walked over to Mel, her saber in hand as Mel looked over at her. “What happened to the speeder?” ** / Mel is © his player / Andromeda is © Liz Staley / Star Wars and all related things are © Lucas Arts and all that… Inked with Pigment Liners .03, .05, and .07 / Colored with Prismacolor Markers

  • A squid (a southern calamari) waits patiently over a patch of reef on a recent night dive off Blairgowerie in Victoria. Sitting, watching, waiting for prey to swim by. I love how the squid has been caught by my flashes in this shot but is otherwise surrounded by the dark inky water. Night diving at its best. Nikon D200 / 105mm VR macro

  • A couple of squid seen on a recent night dive.

  • Small sea squid. Taken on high zoom at range of about 8m. Edited heavily with GIMP. Taken at Portland, Victoria, Australia.

  • Everyone likes seafood – whether to eat, or just out of visual curiosity. But how about when it has a name? A cute pun on the word ‘Calamari’. / This version has a thick outline, there is a version without for those who prefer.

  • Here’s the second version of Kelly & Mari. :) / I’ve removed the outline, for those who prefer a cleaner look on darker tees.

  • This is the Kelly/Mari Tee with a higher placement to suit the ‘girly tee’.
