Now i don’t know about you guys but i definitely have a sweet tooth and i am 100% dedicated to the art of chocolate eating, especially if that chocolate just happens to be dark. Anywho (the point) one day…about a year ago i decided to take up the art of baking. This was mainly for my own benefit and for anyone lucky enough to even get a glimpse, let alone a taste of my creation if they weren’t quick enough. Anyway i started getting a bit adventurous with ingredients, combinations and decoration. Everyone loved it and took comfort in knowing that if they came for a visit they would get cake somewhere along the line. / Now recently i think that, if i do say so myself, i have made the best cake out of all the cakes i have created…and that is a lot. Having just celebrated a birthday and all guests expecting a homemade birthday cake i knew that this one would have to be a good one. So my fellow Red Bubblers i made…wait for it…a Bonfire Cake!!! Now all I’m going to say is that it was three tears worth of choccie goodness, butter cream and twig like choccies that you may all be aware of, (think about it) a sprinkling of cocoa and a little bit of magic… in for form of 3 sparklers sticking out the top…and i give you a Bonfire Cake!!! Well you will be pleased to know that it went down a treat! Hurray! So basically after all that ranting i have something for you to celebrate my new found love of cake making. This come in the form of a T-shirt called I Love Cake. Now the aim of this little slice of fun is to get you involved. All you have to do is pick a colour and create a flavour. It can be as adventurous as you like or just keep it simple and tell me your favourite good old fashioned cake flavour and just leave it in the comment box for us all to see!!! This is just a bit of fun to get all your creative minds going. Your flavour can be as wacky as you like or even just reminisce and tell me what your favourite cakes where as a child or are now. Dont be shy this is just for a laugh and just a little something to get all you lovely Red Bubblers involved and a little bit closer in this fabulous community of Red Bubble. / Soooo… i hope that this little bit of silliness will brighten up your day. So … go and have a look and pass it around and let’s see what happens. KATuck :)

Because I’m well chuffed at my latest cupcake making efforts!! It’s my friend’s birthday party tonight, and in celebration of our love for zombies I made her delicious brain cakes! Now, I’m not the world’s best cook, actually… it really stresses me out. But I decided that my best buddy was worth it. The cupcakes are made from a vanilla cupcake recipe out of the Crapabble Bakery’s cookbook (they’re in Melbourne and I’d looooove to visit!); the icing is just a can of Betty Crocker’s white chocolate icing with about 50 drops of red food colouring (it wouldn’t go any redder dammit!); and the brains are made from marzipan with strawberry topping drizzled over them. OM NOM NOM!!

One of my fondest memories of visiting the British Isles about 15 years ago is of eating Sticky Toffee Pudding at a hotel in Inverness, Scotland. My husband, daughter, and I ordered one dessert to split 3 ways. We just wanted to try something new. Well after one bite, we were stabbing each other with our forks trying to get more of this wonderful creation. Back here in the US, I’ve never been able to duplicate that amazing taste. Does anyone out there have a really great recipe for Sticky Toffee Pudding? Cook’s Illustrated Magazine had one in their lasest issue, but I’m skeptical that’s it as good as the British version. This would be the ideal holiday dessert here in the US for anyone who gets tired of pumpkin pie. Thank you in advance! Pat Ballard

One day I decided I needed change (this happens rather often with me), so I went out, and being an artist, I purchased not 2-4 samples for painting two rooms. No… I was compelled to purchase 15 samples for 2 rooms. After painting my living room ( I still haven’t gotten to that 2nd room), I notice all of the paint samples that I’ve accumulated. I notice that I love the colors. I feel the textures, and it’s fluidity was like frosting for cake (which I will drive several miles for the best of). I began to play with it, and this was the beginning of my interior house paint adventures… Stop by and visit some time. peace

I’m trying to get away from it (or am I?) but it seems to not want to leave: to me it’s creating a fantasy; to my teacher it’s fashion. / Really, what I want is to get into documentary photography; creating a story behind the image. / I don’t want to admit my photography is shallow. But then my photography has always been about capturing beauty, something which, visually, is only skin deep… Isn’t it? / Damnations, give me some names!!
