This shot was taken through a frosted glass window from a street in Stanmore, Sydney. The light was just right on the best sunny winter day so far this year. I decided to leave the spots of dirt, paint and splotches – makes for a more rustic look too, which I like.
Desert plant life has appealed to me for a long time. The different varieties of cactus, agave and yucca all have such interesting and unique shapes and are some of my favorites to paint. I found this agave near Old Town in Albuquerque. I recently sold 2 canvas prints of this image to a Redbubble mystery buyer – thank you!

Saw these red flowers trying to hide in amongst the cacti in the Botanical Gardens . Not the most comfortable of hiding places. Oh, and also my second attempt at the Orton effect.
