Red Rock National Park, California / Just a few minutes drive from my home. I’m glad I got this shot when I did. Since this shot, a large portion of the colorful rock has collapsed. It’s slowly deteriorating.
Inspired by Mel Brackstone – am naming my uploads after Australian Idol quotes…I’m an AI tragic.
Lucha Libre (which translates literally as Free Wrestling or Free Fighting) is a term used in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking areas to refer to all forms of professional wrestling. This little guy is based on The Blue Demon, a late master of the genre.

This is version 2 of Cactus Moon. This is an original landscape image I took which was daytime in full sun. As you can see I changed to night time with a nice big moon and stars, added start and Milky Way, and made it B&W. I used orton on the moon. The starry sky was created by adding a black layer with noise and adjusting. Which one do you like best? Original Hope you like! Add me to your watch list now / My Bubblesite
I was listening to Moby and before I knew it this simple cactus shot turned into this… I think Moby was affecting my brain, haha. So enjoy my insanity!
Outlined cactus flower. Just playing with my Wacom tablet a little. I outlined the flower with the paint brush, using the pen as my tool, then I sharpened the image and that was the whole process.

...tonight i had the absolute pleasure to witness mother nature at her gracious best… ...the Night Blooming Cereus... or Moon Flower… or Queen of the Night… ...really nothing does justice to the sheer beauty and perfume of this flower… which blooms for one night only, for about 6hrs, and emits the most thickly sweet perfume…. ... A youtube video i found of it’s short but spectacular life… ...how simply divine!!! and thanks to my friend alex who gave me this plant from Byron Bay many years ago… and which i’ve thoroughly neglected over time…it managed to produce a bud last summer which i enthusiastically accidentally snapped off while trying to protect the plant… and now.. this summer.. after 3 buds appearing…(and 2 falling off), one and only one managed to emerge in absolute glory tonight, 12th Jan 2009!!!! / taken with my:- Nikon D70 (Duds) / Focal Length 28.0mm / Exposure Time 1/100 / Aperture f/3.5 / (flash didn’t fire) AF Zoom-Nikkor Lens / ED 28-200mm / f/3.5-5.6G IF plus / a piece of toilet paper wrapped around the flash / a desk lamp / 2 pieces of black cardboard / and a giant smile on my face
