Red Rock National Park, California / Just a few minutes drive from my home. I’m glad I got this shot when I did. Since this shot, a large portion of the colorful rock has collapsed. It’s slowly deteriorating.

This is version 2 of Cactus Moon. This is an original landscape image I took which was daytime in full sun. As you can see I changed to night time with a nice big moon and stars, added start and Milky Way, and made it B&W. I used orton on the moon. Outlined cactus flower. Just playing with my Wacom tablet a little. I outlined the flower with the paint brush, using the pen as my tool, then I sharpened the image and that was the whole process.

Epiphyllum macro. Pegusus is the name of this variety of eppy. Also known as the ’’Orchid Cactus’‘ Commonly referred to as Eppys. This is a genus of cactus which has been extensively hybridized by man for the last 100 years. The result being the beautiful flowers we see today. The flowers grow to approximately 20 cm plus in size. I have waited over a year for this flower which finally bloomed last night.
