The soldier’s knee shook rhythmically in the back seat of the quiet Taxi. However, for once he didn’t notice the silence. He was paying…

So I had to write a short story for class. And I’m trapped. I don’t know if I should end it here or add the conversation with the friend’s wife. I asked a friend of mine and she liked it here, but she also wanted to know what happened next. SO SHE WAS NO HELP AT ALL. Help guyz?

  • This is the last remaining cab forward locomotive, on static display at the Sacramento Train Museum. A huge machine, it was articulated in the middle so it could negotiate curves. The complexity of the sides of this behemoth is simply amazing. I placed it into a fictional setting, perhaps somewhere on the east side of the Sierras. Original oil on canvas, 48 X 36 inches. Includes frame.

  • New York City

  • Last time I was in NY, weather was mainly not nice. As my first pictures where rather grey and flat, I tried to find an idea to be creative. I decided to shoot a serie of pictures anwering to the challenge “Reflections of New York”. This picture is one of these. I posted some of them on redbubble under the same name.

  • This is a photograph of the front of Buckingham Palace, the main royal palace in the city of London, England. In this photo we have the full front facade against a rich blue sky with a blured black cab rushing past in the foreground. This sums up the outside and tourist view of the city. The British capitol has long been home to and ruled by the Royal Family, now the house of Windsor they are the head of state of both the UK and most Commonwealth nations although today they have no political power they act as ambasadors for the UK and the other countries they are head of state for such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada.

  • London Cab in the rain, London, UK, medium: Black and White Film Kodak Trix 400 Pro

  • London Cab in Trafalgar Square, London, UK. / Medium: Black and White Film Kodak Trix 400 Pro

  • I lived in the UK for over twelve years and spent most of that time in London. I dwelled there during the change of millennium witnessing the great celebration that took place in the form of a revolutionary, state of the art architecture. I have seen the transformation of an old power station into the awesome Tate Modern, the erection of the Millennium Wheel, the building of the Millennium Bridge and the controversial Millennium Dome, the Hungerford Railway & Pedestrian Bridge, the London Gherkin – the new Sir Norman Foster Swiss Bank Building-, other buildings and monuments. It’s in London that I took up photography following a course based in the States and it’s London that inspired me to become an artist photographer. The magic atmosphere of its huge parks, the imposing buildings, either historical or modern, the contrast between building styles, sometimes placed next to each other, the eccentric markets, i.e. Camden Lock and Stables, Portobello, Brick Lane etc., the street performers in Covent Garden, the classic black cabs and red double decker busses (almost extinct now), the theaters and the many other things – impossible to mention all – , provided me with enough inspirational material to make me feel I could spend all my life producing work based on this city alone! / More images may be viewed on my site: www.aldocervato.com . Medium: Black and White film mostly Kodak Tri-x, 35mm and 120 medium format.
