I come to the garden alone / While the dew is still on roses / And the voice I hear falling / On my ear the son of God discloses And He walks with me and He talks with me / And He tells me I am His own / And the joy we share as we tarry there / None other has ever known He speaks and the sound of His voice / Is so sweet the birds hush their singing / And the melody that He gave to me / Within my heart is ringing And He walks with me and He talks with me / And He tells me I am His own / And the joy we share as we tarry there / None other has ever known Song Name: He Walks with Me / Artist Name:Anne Murray / Songwriter: T Whitson / Release Date: 1979.01.01 Many people have sung this song including Elvis Presley, Merle Haggard, Alan Jackson and many others. It is one of the most beautiful spiritual songs ever written. This art was inspired by this wonderful song which reminds me that there is always a place where I can go and get away from the world…and He will be there for me. It is not that He is not there for me anywhere else…it is just that I often need to get away from the world and spend time in the garden with Him. I took this photo just north of the city of Orange, California a few years ago. I wanted to give it a more otherworldly effect to portray this lovely song. I altered the hues with Photoshop CS3 and then applied the Orton effect to achieve the final result. Digital art. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Isa 40:8: The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. / ______ The natural distribution range of the genus Yucca (49 species and 24 subspecies) covers a vast area of north- and central America. From Baja California in the west, northwards into the southwestern USA, through the drier central states as far north as Canada (Alberta province, Yucca glauca ssp. albertana), and moving east along the Gulf of Mexico, and then north again, through the Atlantic coastal and inland neighbouring states. To the south, the genus is represented throughout Mexico and extends into Guatemala (Yucca elephantipes). Yuccas have adapted to an equally vast range of climatic and ecological conditions. They are to be found in rocky deserts and badlands, in prairies and grassland, in mountainous regions, in light woodland, in coastal sands (Yucca filamentosa), and even in sub-tropical and semi-temperate zones, although these are nearly always arid to semi-arid. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia / _____ This Yucca photo was captured in the mountains above Los Angeles, California a few years back. Ps 36:5: ¶ Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. / Ps 36:6: Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast. / Ps 36:7: How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings. / ________ This image was taken at the Huntington Library Botanical gardens a few years back. It was taken in the Springtime. I combiined the original image with one of my hawk images. Merged the two in Photoshop CS3 then added the Orton effect for the final results. Digitaly enhanced art. The Huntington’s superb botanical gardens cover 120 acres (485,624 m²) and the theme gardens contain rare plants from around the world. The gardens are divided into more than a dozen themes, including the Australian Garden, Camellia Collection, Children’s Garden, Desert Garden Conservatory, Conservatory for Botanical Science, Desert Garden, Herb Garden, Japanese Garden, Lily Pond, North Vista, Palm Garden, Rose Garden, Shakespeare garden, Subtropical and Jungle Garden and a Chinese Garden (Liu Fang Yuan 流芳園 or the Garden of Flowing Fragrance) now open in the northern end of the property. In addition, a large open field planted with Eucalyptus trees serves as a re-created “Australian Outback.” The Huntington has a program to protect and propagate endangered plant species. In 1999 and 2002, a specimen of Amorphophallus titanum, or “corpse flower”, bloomed at the facility. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The Huntington Library was named after its founder Henry E. My wings soar the heavens, / caught in the nightwind, / carried by a moonbeam, / far above the horizon. / I see the cliffs below. My eyes search the distance, / a flicker of light perhaps / will reflect off the moon to guide me / to a place where you are waiting. / I beseach the shadows below. My heart longs for your nearness, / and pounds deep within my breast, / aching from the memory of you, / the sweet scent of your essence. / Come to me from the rocks below. My wings grow weary in my flight, / my endless quest our souls to re-unite / to feel your warm sweet touch / upon my furrowed brow. / For hours I have circled the shores below. My soul cannot go on without you, / of which you are my existence, / the very air I breath, / you are the other half of me. / Without you, I will end it on the earth below. I drift in the light of the moon / and wait for you to come to me soon. © amari / ____ I created this work with a composite of several of my photographs and a fractal image created with Apophysis fractal art program. Images were overlayed using Photoshop CS3. Digitally enhanced with Photomatix HDR, edited with Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx. The original cliffs are a photograph of the cliffs in Dana Point, California. The moon was a shot taken down in Long Beach one night when the moon was low and huge. The Hawk is from the skies of San Diego. I spent many nights on the beach of Dana Point enjoying a moonlit night like this. This was an awsome sight when we came upon it. I did not know at the time that it’s name is ‘Skull Rock’ but that is what I called it. It turned out that I was not the only one who noticed this eerie and awsome rock nestled among the other rocks and bushes peeking up above them, peering out at us as if from some other netherworld we had not been aware of until now. It’s vacant eyes have a haunting effect as you gaze deeply into them and marvel and this wonderful handwork of God. It reminds me that I am only capturing on film what God has created in His endless book of wonders. This natural sculpture stands out immediately from miles away. Should you decide to take a drive out to Joshua Tree National Park, you will definitely want to see this anomaly of nature. It began long ago when rain drops accumulated in tiny depressions and started to erode the granite. As more rock eroded, more water accumulated, leading to more erosion until, as time passed, two hollowed-out eye sockets formed and the rock began to resemble a skull. Skull Rock Located along the main east-west park road, Skull Rock is a favorite stop for park visitors. A parking spot is located just across the road from the rock. For those wishing to stretch their legs, a 1.7 mile nature trail begins either just across from the entrance to Jumbo Rocks Campground or inside the campground, across from the amphitheater. Joshua Tree National Park offers visitors endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. Depending on the number of hours you have to spend, your interests and energy, here are some ideas to consider: If you have four hours or less, begin your tour at a visitor center where park staff will be happy to help you plan your visit. With limited time you may want to confine your sightseeing to the main park roads. Many pullouts with wayside exhibits dot these roads. There are 12 self-guiding nature trails. Consider experiencing at least one of these walks during a short park visit. On clear days the vista from Keys View extends beyond Salton Sea to Mexico and is well worth the additional 20-minute drive. Joshua Tree National Park lies 140 miles east of Los Angeles, California, 175 miles northeast of San Diego, and 215 miles southwest of Las Vegas. You can approach it from Interstate 10 and Hwy 62 (Twentynine Palms Highway). The closest airport is in Palm Springs. Public transportation to the park is not available. / / There are three park entrance stations: / • The west entrance is located five miles south of the junction of Highway 62 and Park Boulevard at Joshua Tree Village. / • The north entrance is in Twentynine Palms, three miles south of the junction of Highway 62 and Utah Trail. / • The south entrance at Cottonwood Spring, which lies 25 miles east of Indio, can be approached from the east or west, also via Interstate 10. / Joshua Tree National Park HDR enhanced “Other National Park Images” Grand Canyon – Afternoon All I Survey Wotan’s Throne Grand Canyon Grand Canyon Mather Point Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. I am a big fan of Marilyn Monroe. I believe she was very talented and a beautiful lady. I often wonder what her life would have been like if she had of been able to find her way in this world. She still has a haunting presence to this day. That is what I was trying to capture in this work, a composite of several images to bring about the desired effect. The silouhette represents her had she lived. The reflection represents what we remember of her. Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. If he could turn his head even just a little, Prince Phillip would see it, the clue that holds the secret that could set him free. The palace he had built with the hopes and dreams of his father and his father before him, the place where he would take his bride after he ascended the throne, the apple of his eye lays nearby in pieces. Only it does not resemble a palace anymore. Instead it has been transformed into a giant apple and broken in pieces, turned into stone and left nearby as a cruel joke by his brother Gregory and his cohort Sorceress Portia. Gregory has always had a cruel streak in him. It is woven into his character, a festering blotch within his heart that will eventually lead him to his own destruction. But that might not happen in time to save Phillip from this petrified horror in which his soul is now locked. Gregory and Portia had chuckled with glee when they had devised and carried out the plan which was now unfolding. They thought it only fitting that they should lock the secret to breaking the spell into the apple of Phillip’s eye and hiding it in plane sight for everyone to see. They laughed together as they imagined people passing by and seeing the huge stone frog and the massive broken stone apple with the mysterious writing on it. No one would ever guess that this was Prince Phillip and the writing on the apple held the formula to set him free and restore his beloved palace and his kingdom. Only one person could read the formula and break the spell, but she lives far away and has not even met Prince Phillip yet. Sorceress Portia had peered into the future and revealed her to Gregory, the future bride of his brother Phillip. She would have to love Prince Phillip with all her heart and be willing to die for him before she would have the vision to read and understand the mysterious writing on the apple. But Gregory has other plans and they do not include the princess ever learning of Phillip or ever falling in love with him or ever setting him free. If only fate had not intervened and left him as only a stone on a hillside with his gaze fastened on the stars, but it appears Phillip’s fate lies in the hands of Gregory and Portia. Unless the spell is broken by this girl from his future, he will never fulfill his destiny and all will be lost to Phillip forever. Princess Grace sits by a window, longing in her heart for the one she desires to spend her life with, the love her spirit has revealed to her from afar. He is out there somewhere, but she knows not where or how to find him. She has met him in her dreams. She has not seen his face, only his eyes, eyes that have warmed her heart and thrilled her soul. She knows he is out there somewhere and he is waiting for her. Only today she had received a message that her father was arranging for her to marry a prince from a far away land, someone she has never met, but somehow had a feeling of dread when she heard his name, Prince Gregory. As Princess Grace prepares herself for her journey to fulfill her fathers bargain for her to wed Prince Gregory, Phillip has had visions revealing everything to him, but he can do nothing. He cannot move, nor twitch an eye, nor divert his gaze. For now he sits and waits…gazing at the stars…praying for this nightmare to end, for the girl to come and set him free and for the coronation in which he will be crowned King. amari If you would like to see and read the Part 1 first part of this story, please click The Frog Who Would Be King If you would like to read part 3 and view the art Please click here / ______ OK, I am having fun with this. On our photo trip to Perris, California, this is another of the painted rocks we discovered. No one knows who painted them, only that they were ordinary rocks one day and transformed into a magical world of imagination by one or more mysterious artist; an artist who had the vision to see beyond the ordinary, beyond rocks and dirt into a magic kingdom, one of mind and thought and spirit. Digitally enhanced with Photomatrix HDR, Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx. / _____ Perris is a city in Riverside County, California, in the United States. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 46,600. The city is named in honor of Fred T. Perris, chief engineer of the California Southern Railroad; the California Southern connected through the city in the 1880s to build a rail connection between the present day cities of Barstow and San Diego. Perris is the home of Orange Empire Railway Museum (OERM, a.k.a “the trolley museum”) – the largest operating museum of its kind on the west coast. On March 20, 2007, Perris was featured on ABC’s Nightline news show during it’s “Realty Check” segment. The story dealt with the rising trend of home foreclosures in Riverside County, and Perris was referred to as the “epicenter”. The story dealt primarily with the city of Perris. The Farmer Boys restaurant chain was started in Perris in 1981. Perris is also known for the eerie Norman Bates style Rock Castle looming over the city. The train station scenes in the film Calendar Girl were filmed in Perris. The film starred Jason Priestly, Gabriel Olds, and Jerry O’Connell. The skydiving scenes in the movie The Bucket List starring Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson were filmed in Perris. Scenes from Eagle Eye starring Billy Bob Thorton and Shia Leboeuf were filmed in Perris. From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Images Do Not Belong To The Public Domain. Ge 2:21: ¶ And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept: and he took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh instead thereof; / Ge 2:22: And the rib, which the LORD God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. / _____ Abstract art digital composite using my photographs. Photoshop CS3 and Micrografx edited. Those are not tatoos on her body, it is the leafy overlay from the garden photo I used. She has no tatoos. This is my daughter, Deborah. I gave her one of my favorite Biblical names. It turns out that I named her appropriately. She is a born again Christian. She loves the Lord with all her heart. She has had her share of hardships and heartaches growing up and also in her early youth, but she has overcome those things and come out with a glowing spirit. She and her husband are leaders in the community and their church. They have 3 wonderful children that would be a blessing to anyone. They are blessings to me. When I look at her, her eyes sparkle with a love of life and Jesus fills her very being. It radiates from her face. Her beauty makes mine pale by comparison. I am short and she is tall, something I have always longed to be. Her devotion to her family and God brings out her true spiritual beauty which enhances the physical beauty she has been blessed with. There is no vanity in her, but a humble gentle spirit that I love and admire. Born and raised in California, she has the beauty and glamour, the poise and confidence you would expect from a California girl. I am so proud to have her for my daughter. The cowboy and his horse, ranch background is my dad and our horse Lucky. Lucky was a beautiful palomino mare. Daddy had her trained perfectly. She could count. He would ask her something like, “How much is one plus two?” and she would count to three with her hoof in the ground. They were very close. But then he was close to all his horses. They all had a special bond. My dad was the real thing, a real cowboy. He rode the range in Texas and did roundups long before he met my mother. It was a way of life that he loved.
