This image was chosen on October 9, 2008 to be included in the 2009 Christmas Seasons calendar by CalendaRus. BYGONE ERA IMAGE COLLECTION We saw this wonderful old wagon on the side of the road during a road trip through West Virginia in December 2005. This vintage wagon is “Miss December” in my 2009 calendar. Thank you for stopping by to comment on this image. I don’t normally respond with individual thank-you comments due to time constraints (slow dial-up speed). I prefer to spend my limited time on RB by commenting on your work instead. However, I want you to know how much it means to me that you took the time to view and comment on my work! Patricia ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Please don’t copy or download this image. Just a barn / Standing alone / Behind our house / Where no one’s home / Once there were horses / Now they are gone / Those were days / That are now bygone / On a big piece of land / Rules have changed / Horses can no longer dwell / Seems life has been rearranged / Too many houses / Built too fast / Too much traffic / Things never last / Now my barn / Is lonely to hear a neigh / But we’re sorry / That was yesterday / I look out / And wish I could see / The horses I love / Looking back at me Photograph: Frankie / Poem: Sally

Thank you to EarthGipsy for inspiring me to dig out these old shots of Sofala NSW – a small historic gold town with its quaint streets full of buildings from the gold rush era. I must admit I don’t know the history of this particular shop and would be pleased to update the details if someone else can fill me in. / / /

I love this image because it’s a reminder to me that daily life and worship are not separate entities but more like two hands folded in prayer, a prayer that flows like a peaceful melody from sunup to sundown and throughout the night in wonderful continuity and harmony.

I saw this outside a house in Dawlish Devon UK, I think it is being used as an ornament now. Having a rest after all the hard work it did in the past. /

Image Collection for Jack’s Bee Farm Calendar A photograph of my father-in-law, Jack Montgomery, posing in front of his massive climbing yellow rose vine. He is quite proud of the prolific blooms on this vine each spring. He is somewhat of a local celebrity in our area. As a retired dairy owner turned beekeeper and national weather observer, he is more popularly known as Jack, the Beeman. Jack has has had countless articles written about him and published over the years in our local newspaper and is often quoted regarding the weather. He is considered the local expert in both weather and beekeeping. Thank you for stopping by to comment on this image. I’m adding this photo of “Chapelle” to my Nostalgia collection of images with a vintage feel. I love this little chapel which is a replica of an Acadian style church from the 1800s. Its small bell which calls people to worship is especially sweet to me.

This is the result of collaborating with a very talented lady; Julie Langford is the best! If you like this card, but wish for something different regarding the text (maybe a birthday of someone that remembers a bit of the past), let me know. For those with a sense of the historical, the bridge is rope and plank suspension footbridge.

This old store was salvaged from eminent destruction and moved to a replicated village where yesteryear is celebrated. I love the character of these vintage stores which my husband’s grandmother always called the “mercantile.” What a far cry from the superstores we have today! I applied several PS filters to enhance the 19th Century look.

morning light gently beams into the old Mungo shearing shed highlighting the outback craftsmanship. The smell of lanolin still present in the wool polished timber…the silence giving me time to ponder on the action that once transpired on these very floors…. / / / more of my outback Australian photography can be viewed by clicking on the preview image below. / “
