fORMaTiNG YOuR TeXt I havent been having too much fun gettin my text written in RB the way i am used to.. formatting that is.. ive had my text cancelled out like this when i put the ”-” symbol between letters – i try and remember not to do that again. Only just now i found another one.. So i thought to self, that i’d better write all these down here in the journal – for future reference : NEW PARAGRAPHS / Press ENTER twice and that will give you a new paragraph automatically. WHEN ON EACH END OF WORD/TEXT : / eg: * bold * (without spaces) symbol * = bolds / / symbol _ = italic symbol ^ = small upper / / symbol – = cancels you out! symbol ~ = makes text smaller / / symbol + = Underlines the text symbol * * * = makes a horizontal rule/line without the spaces / -found by KSERIPHYN_ TO MAKE TEXT CLICKABLE (INTO URL) Put quotation symbols ” ” on each side of the word/sentence you want to make into Links/Clickable and then a COLON (no spaces) straight after, plus the url ; http:// EXAMPLE (i’ve added spaces in between the symbols so that you can see the text – but NO SPACES ” This tip was found whilst reading PDUV’s journal ” : http://www.redbubble.com/people/pduv/journal/show/4812 becomes : This tip was found whilst reading PDUV’s journal TO ADD GRAPHICS INTO YOUR JOURNAL / PLEASE DON’T PUT HUGE PIX, RESIZE/UTILIZE PLACES LIKE IMAGESHACK free image hosting EXAMPLE : (i’ve added spaces in between the symbols so that you can see the text – but NO SPACES) ! http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6817/formatingrbct6.gif ! becomes TIP : You can do save that gif cheat sheet if you want ;) ADDING GRAPHIC & MAKING IT CLICKABLE (LINKED) / for larger pics you want to show, its a good idea to post the Thumbnail size, / and making the graphic clickable to a larger size. To to that just add the :http://website.uwant.url right after the ending exclamation ! mark of the graphic link ! http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/6817/formatingrbct6.th.gif !:http://img216.imageshack.us/my.php?image=formatingrbct6.gif / becomes NEW! Adding an ALT equivalent to your image / so that when you hover mouse over the image you can read the title of image example (hover mouse over the button): / add the title of your image in a bracket, for example (IMAGE TITLE) in between the last letter of the image URL and the ending exclamation symbol. look at image below / HEADER TEXT (Large fonts) / add symbol # to each side of the word/sentence for header size font. / / but this seems to work only as header, meaning its gotta be the first sentence/text, like a header. i used it up to in the text that says “Formating Your Text” eg : # Is bigger better? # no spaces MAKING BULLET/LIST Make new/update CheatSheet soon done! New Cheatsheet added to bottom of this page and also in portfolio HERE symbol hAsh plus a space then text will make bullets / -found by KSERIPHYN_ / TEXT GENERATOR keong has found this link to TEXTISM a Text Generator that can help you further with formating style that RB uses. For anyone who uses Firefox and has Greasemonkey installed, Dave Pearson has created a script that replaces the existing hints on RedBubble with the cheatsheet (big thanks to Dave!!) NEW!! I’VE made this into a Mousepad, click on image to see more! / updated cheatsheet (28 July 2007)

  • Spiral staircase in the Vatican Museum. / I love spiral staircases and this is an amazing example. Definately inspired by nature, when you looked at it you coudn’t help but see the shell like forms appearing. I would love to photograph this with nobody else around, but I actually feel the people add some scale to this piece and I dont mind them being there at all. If I didnt have the Vatican Guards looking over my shoulder I would have been there all day!

  • Carved By Nature’s Wrath / The 12 Apostles, Victoria Following a day of torrential rain and gale force winds, the sun shone momentarily, lighting up the moody sky, before plunging the rugged coastline into complete darkness. As night falls, a solitary waterfall is all that remains of the passing storms, returning the much needed rain to the swollen seas of the shipwreck coast. • I shot this photo of pinup model Heidi Van Horne in Hollywood California… She’s so cute!

  • Last Sunday I wend down to Sculpture By The Sea at Bondi Beach. The sky was amazing. It rained all the way down in the car (at 5am) then stopped as I parked. The clouds threatened rain for the 90 min I was taking photos, but then just as I was getting ready to go, a window opened up in the clouds and beautiful golden light streamed over the sculptures. The dark threatening clouds made the perfect backdrop. This image is a 3 shot HDR image. I printed this image up and it looks great in my hall… It has become one of my favorites.

  • / . / I had some requests of a portrait shot of my photo entitled “Luna over Luna Park”. Luckily, I had taken the shot. I’m not great at giving photos titles, hence the title for this one. This was taken on the same night of my other photos “Luna Over Luna Park”, “Luna Harbour” and “Luna PANORAMA”. The photos were taken in quite quick succession. I attempted to combine the full moon, with the Sydney Harbour Bridge. You might be interested in viewing the other photos because this is in Portrait, two are in Landscape, and one PANORAMA. It’s amazing how a similar subject can be photographed in slightly different ways, and produce different results. I will interested in knowing which of the four is you favourite !

  • Just the logo as requested by Natalie

  • What a great image, what a great t-shirt! Also available as a print, poster or card!

  • Taken at Black Rock near Barwon Heads. The storm had just passed out to sea and let the late evening light illuminate the water.

  • As one of the most iconic images of Scotland, Eilean Donan is recognised all around the world. Situated on an island at the point where three great sea lochs meet, and surrounded by some majestic scenery, it is little wonder that the castle is now one of the most visited and important attractions in the Scottish highlands. Although first inhabited around the 6th century, the first fortified castle was built in the mid 13th century and stood guard over the lands of Kintail. Since then, at least four different versions of the castle have been built and re-built as the feudal history of Scotland unfolded through the centuries. Partially destroyed in a Jacobite uprising in 1719, Eilean Donan lay in ruins for the best part of 200 years until Lieutenant Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap bought the island in 1911 and proceeded to restore the castle to its former glory. After 20 years of toil and labour the castle was re-opened in 1932

I’ve been driving myself nuts trying to find a song that fits this piece. Turns out the perfect song is one I listen to every day. / Field Of Innocence by Evanescence. • Title is from the song London Calling by the Clash. I cut and glued an old map (of london) on to the outlines of parliament, and added some digital things as well.

  • In this design I was playing around with the concept of how people judge one another. I chose to do this in a paint-by-numbers style so that at first glance, people have no choice but to judge where which colors go. The purpose of which is to prove them wrong. / I tried this on several people, most of which assumed she had a pink shirt and blue eyes and blond hair, which is partially right, but not quite. / A person has to get to know this shirt before they realize she has pink and blue hair. At which point, they know her true colors. / This shirt is a physical representation of the personal judgments we make on others, especially those who appear different. This is what the image would actually look like if she were colored in. / special thanks to johnston photography and Loriel Andre’a for their help and professionalism in my artistic process! © This work is copyright by Nadine Smith 2008 under Australian law. / Please respect original works
