Image of a male Australian Fur Seal(Arctocephalus pusillus),taken at Popes Eye Marine Park.There was a colony of seals in the area many very inquisitive,this big fella got closer than I would have liked a few times.I was fortunate to observe males play fighting & asserting there dominance by slapping there fins on the water & then attacking each other,dont know whether it was stupid to be in amongst it but it sure was one of those magical moments in diving. 100% of all sales of this image will be donated toSea Shepherd Seal Defence © Copyright M.Tworkowski

This is an image of my brother-in-law’s dog, Buzz, blended into a sunset over Long Cove only about a half a mile away from his home in West Pennant, Nova Scotia, Canada. Buzz is a Springer Spaniel and a sweetheart of a dog. Everyone loves Buzz. For those who may be curious, Buzz is still alive and kickin’! Mum came over for a visit today, and as we were sitting out in the glorious spring sunshine this little guy came buzzing along. A spilt cup of tea, a quick dash upstairs for the camera, and a pair of very dirty knees later… this!

I was trying the macro setting on my 70-300mm lens in a field of flowers surrounded by these buzzing Bumbles. I am definetly going to invest in a dedicated macro lens… any suggestions as to what to get? I use a Canon 400D.

October 2008 – East Greenbush, N.Y. / Bumblebees are in danger in many developed countries due to habitat destruction and collateral pesticide damage. In Britain, until relatively recently, 19 species of native true bumblebee were recognized along with six species of cuckoo bumblebees. Of these, three have already become extinct, eight are in serious decline and only six remain widespread. A decline in bumblebee numbers could cause large-scale sweeping changes to the countryside, leading to inadequate pollination of certain plants. / In response to this, a new organization has recently been set up. The Bumblebee Conservation Trust aims to halt these declines through conservation and education. The world’s first bumblebee sanctuary was established at Vane Farm in the Lock Leven National Nature Preserve in Scotland in 2008. (Wikipedia) / More information / / / /
