Cape Hatteras Lighthouse is located on North Carolina’s Outer Banks on the United States eastern seaboard of the Atlantic Ocean. The shoals and shifting sands of this region are often referred to as the “graveyard of the Atlantic” because of numerous ship wrecks. Print version available.

Taken in the Peak District. I thought it looked like one of the geese was telling the other two to hurry up. Decided it would look nice in the style of an old photo to fit with the heritage look and feel to Buxton.

Mount Cathedral sits between The Blue Range, The Black Range, townships of Buxton and Taggerty. The Cathedral is a reef of rock that reaches right through to Merton Victoria at least an hours drive away. Mt Cathedral is the only part of the reef that is exposed to the elements. If you walk down to Little River on the private properties that run off Cathedral lane and Sharrocks Court you can see the reef running through Little River. Mt Cathedral National Park, enterance is near the township of Taggerty, Victoria, Australia.

Solomon’s Temple, also known as Grinlow Tower, is a Victorian Folly close to the spa town of Buxton in the Derbyshire Peak District. It is said to have been built by Solomon Mycock in the 1890s, paid for by public subscription to provide work for the locally unemployed. This is a two-storey tower, sitting on top of a ridge at a height of 1440 feet above sea level. From the open top of the tower there are good views down over the town, and also over the surrounding countryside and parts of the Peak District. It is difficult to see how this tower deserves the description ‘temple’ – it is only some 20 feet tall. Canon 5D Mk2 / F16 / ISO 160
