This is my niece Phoebe, i took her in her tutu, as she was growing out of it, she only wore it on her birthdays, and she likes fairies so I made this piece of artwork, combining other photos of mine into this shot and computer generated the little fairy and unicorn. / The mushrooms are from Sheffield in Tasmania, and the beetle out of my garden, and the butterfly wings off a butterfly out of my garden, and the sky from 12 Apostles, and the water was smoothed out which was taken near my home on River mersey. The flowers were also out of my garden.
acrylic on canvas 40×120cm / August 2007
I got inspired to do this one after looking at some really old fashion post cards from the early 20th century. I wanted this girl to look doll like and angelic. This was painted completely in Photoshop no references were used.
This was taken in a dark room, with just enough daylight to highlight the feet. I opened the curtains a little just to allow the natural daylight in. My wife was holding Eli as I took the shot using a Tripod and remote . 100% of all proceeds from sale of all my art goes toward our Charity Projects in Deep Rural Africa. Self portrait times 3!! / /
Featured in Hairstyles and Painted Ladies groups Acrylic on 6×12 stretched canvas (part #2) (6/7/09) This is completely different from my other works. (The colors are still there though!) I’ve been working on about 3 large projects here and there, but it’s been ages since I’ve completed anything new! I was stuck house sitting with no computer this weekend, so I thought I’d bing my paints along and be productive. I was flipping through my sketchbook and found a really old half finished portrait. The girl was just dying to be painted! So, I sketched her on a canvas. In the original sketch, I had given her brown hair with some hi-lites and blue eyes. After laying down the background and painting her skin, she was just begging for these green cat eyes and funky purple hair. Everything fell into place after that. The bubbles just seemed to fit her so well! Once I finished her, I got the image of a hummingbird/peacock type creature, so – the tryptich was born! :) She’s got the bird and some butterflies to keep her company. Since this piece seemed to be so focused around the element of air, I decided to call it ‘Air Head’. Don’t be fooled though, she’s not as dumb as she looks! :) This gave me an idea for a ‘modern elemental’ series. Is this something you’d like to see? She’s air, I would do ‘Bubble Brains’ for water, ‘Hot Head’ for Fire, but I’m not sure what to call Earth…..any suggestions? Available as a T-Shirt HERE
Self ~ Butterflies and i go way back – and most of my transformations take place in the wee-hours. If i were a butterfly, i’d be the nocturnal kind… / My fascination was only exacerbated by my obsession with Nabokov, who, when not writing fantastic prose & poetry, was a Lepidopterist. There’s even a class of butterfly he discovered, the “Nabokovian Blue”.
Vector illustrator design based on an image or a dancing woman. Buterflies and birds surround her face and dancing image.
This is a photograph I took several years ago and On the day I uploaded it to my computer, The holy Spirit inspired me to write the verses contained in it. I Pray it will speak to many, and bring healing and forgiveness to those who are in need. Wounded deep by harsh cruel words, / And falsely accused by those who he loved, / Beaten and bruised, stripped naked and mocked / Tears mingled with blood, now covered his face. Hate filled hearts tied him to a post, / His back like a field that had just been ploughed / From furrows deep blood flowed to the ground / With a heart filled with love he endured the pain. Hands that healed and often clasped in prayer, / Feet that once carried a message of love, / both now nailed to a cruel cross, / Innocent one now waiting to die. Crowds stood and watched as he cried out to God, / Father forgive them, Forgive them he cried, / The price was paid and he bowed his head and died. Forgive them father was his plea / As he paid the price for you and me, / Our sins washed away and pardon secured, / Forgive one and other as He forgive you. These villagers and those from surrounding villages have no other choice, but drink this water as their well was contaminated and then caved in. PLEASE READ THIS. This is Grace taken just a week ago while on Mission in Remote Tunga/Zuga Village. I Give God thanks to all of yu here on RB who have prayed, donated Money, painted her Portrait and your Love for me, The Children and Gods Mission among the extreme poor. Grace would certainly be dead now, If it was not for those of yu who purchased her photographs and made donations via our Charity website. She is now at our small school in The village and I actually heard her singing early in the morning outside my hut. Her voice is so Divine. Her life has touched so many here on Rb and in the villages. This is my Passion in life and inspiration. To help as many children to lice healthy and happy lives. God Bless you all my dear friends.
