A Zebra Swallowtail takes a sip at a butterfly bush. This was one of my first images with a Nikon D80 with a 50-200vr lens attached. Only adjustments made were light and contrast.

“Chasing Shadows” Photography & Artwork / by Holly Kempe © A butterfly enthralled by its shadow. “Leaping ahead of me in the moonlight / My looming shadow takes flight. / Rising like a giant, it runs ahead of me / I reach out to touch him / then he turn’s and flees. / I run fast to catch him, but he has / disappered, I wonder why he is so scared. / I only want him to come and play / But my little shadow keeps on running away.” / ~Jac D
Digital paint over a photograph Please do not miss damned souls under the water. The water lily is regarded as a flower in haven in Japan. The water there is so clear and one can see through the hell below it and damned souls burning in fire. This is a short story in one of Japanese classic literatures. There is a lot more to it. But anyway, I like the story. The setting is completely different, but the idea is originated from the story.
As I awoke one dreary day I looked around to my dismay / The sun was hiding beneath the clouds / The wind howled ceaselessly / It looked to be another day to simply meld into the next / The cold wind chilled my bones and left frost upon my dress / But somethin else was in the air / a vibe I could not place / Somethin was enticing me without words or smell or taste / So out we went into the world to seek what we could find / And halfway thru our journey we gasped in our delight / For all around us we were blessed, as far as the eye could see / Butterfliez in all their magick / dancing in the breeze… All work (including images, and writings) copyright dimarie painter / / Click here for work details and credits if any apply… / Click on any category above for that genre… or / Click here to go back to my profile page ... thanx :)

Please visit Mission to Africa website: http://www.philadelphia33.org/ Sarah was close to death when she was brought to our mission center in Kujama Nigeria. I was getting ready to travel to ungwa/fada Village to see how they were coping with the new water pump and Grinder we bought them on our previous visit. As I was loading the vehicle, one of my helpers noticed a man carring a woman on his back. We found out later he had walked 6 miles carrying his sick wife. She was unable to move or communicate with us. We carried her into the small hall. Her body was all swollen and she was in great pain. I spoke to her husband through an intrepritor and he told us she was suddenly stricken with sickness a week ago. He was so distraught. I then spoke to Sarah and assured her that God was a God of Great love and compassion, and that he would heal her. I just knew that all were about to see a miracle take place. / Jesus says: / Mar 16:17-18 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; (18) They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. With the help of an Intrepretor We began to Pray. I laid hands on Sarah and began to praise and Worship God. he has anointed me with power over all power of the enimy. It was about 10 minutes later, that Sarah opened her eyes and began to Speak. / It was not the native Housa Language, but the heavenly Language she was speaking, Gift of Tongues. Her legs began to move anddn her arms. 25 minutes later, and Sarah ws sitting up on a chair. This Photo was taken just 30 minutes after the Lord filled her with the Holy Spirit and completely healed her. PRAISE GOD! I spoke to Sarak on 2oth June 2008 Via telephone, and she is well and sharing her Miracle with many. Sarah was healed on 11th December 2007. / This was witnessed by 30 villagers who had gathered outside the small hall. Please continue to pray for me and the Return mission to Rural villages on 9th October 2008. / Please click on link below: / http://www.philadelphia33.org/ Link to all my art & Writings: / http://www.redbubble.com/people/joshuatree1

A lovely butterfly resting on a tree trunk. / INFO FOR SOLD!: / Sold in Matted Prints & Cards, here on RB, by mystery buyers.
The Pearl Crescent is a very small butterfly with a wing span of about an inch and a half. This one was feeding on spring clover blossoms and was extraordinarily cooperative, allowing me to get very close with the macro lens. (Image is full frame, no cropping).

A fire alarm made everyone aware of this beauty waiting on the building right outside the door. Fortunately, it was a false alarm – maybe we just needed to be reminded of the grace of nature.
