Here is After All We’ve Been Through: I listened to advice / And so, I am here alone / Lying in a creaking boat of hope / As bitty holes let / Our tragedy seep in / And I start sinking again I have tried to convince myself / That, yes / Yes / This is right / We should not be together / Their counsel for me to let you go / Is for something I surely don’t see / And yet they know But then why? Why is there an aching so deep / That any task needs / Absolute relevance to my existence / Or else I don’t even care Why is there a picture in my mind / Of a summer’s day / And no matter how hard I try / You are there with me / You are squinting in the sun / You tell me things that I believe / And the very thought of it / Encompasses my body so much / I feel I have lived it And when I open a book / That is supposed to engage me / Why do you gently land upon the page / In disguise of a butterfly / And I follow you / To a vast field / That smells of rain / A nostalgic scent of innocence / And life / And everything I want / Everything I hoped for / Begins to evolve in it all / And it always leads me back to you / This tightening in my chest / Protesting / After all we’ve been through The drenching sun upon the crack of my ceiling / Love is not perfect, it’s a perfect feeling I want them to tell me what is so fantastic / About this life I am living now I want them to fill that barren wall / Or at least putty the holes in I want them to call me at midnight / And make everything ok I want them to sew up that dress that I tore / Like an invalid in the loss of us But most of all I just want you And that’s the least of what they can do ..::Stock Photo Credit::.. / Dancers / Hallway / Background / Butterflies If you like this, please check out: / / /
