  • GRRRRRRRRRR redbubble has messed this image up, it was fine before the new printing system :( what began as a day-dream, resulted in a doodle, became a sketch, was followed by a digital rendition and is now a Tshirt.

  • The sun is shining, the birds are singing . . . Ah, it’s Sunday morning gardening!

  • I hope you enjoy this pretty little butterfly that I took in my garden this past summer :) He didn’t seem to mind me poking around with my camera… I was glad of the opportunity! He didn’t stay long but I managed to get a few good shots! I adore the markings and colourings of his wings! Isn’t that red/orange colour just stunning! I’m very proud of this photo, I really love how it turned out. Looking back and my gallery from beginning to now, I can truly see how I have grown as a photographer and this fact makes me very happy and accomplished  Certainly I have a long way to go yet, but the nice thing about this hobby is that I am very passionate about it. Hopefully some day I can do something more with photography. That’ll be so amazing! Thanks to the investigative brilliance of a friend, I’ve found out the name of this pretty butterfly! It is called “American Lady – Vanessa virginiensis” They seem to be common to New England, though I am guessing generally on the East coast (since I’m in Virginia ^^;) and are under the category of “Anglewings” Camera: Taken with a Canon Rebel XTi / Cropping, small hue/tint adjustments + Sig: Adobe Photoshop CS2 © SilverDew All comments are welcomed and appreciated. • Black Ink A5 illustration… Toucans flying through a tropical scene… as the sun sets they move in opposite directions… but swirls & twirls keep them joined together…

  • I’m not entirely sure how I did this. I know I took away the background from the tiny Small Copper butterfly, perched it on some leaves floating in the lake & fiddled with some layer stuff. It’s just for fun, not a serious attempt at layering, but it’s a beginning. The butterfly should have a reflection, one day it might, if I can figure it out. I don’t think I can do this again as it was all just playing and I can’t remember the sequence of events, but who knows where it will lead? / 011208 / PSE7 This sky where we live / Is no place to lose your wings. / So love, love, love. / Hafiz حافظ Human beings are members of a whole, / In creation of one essence and soul. / If one member is afflicted with pain, / Other members uneasy will remain. / If you have no sympathy for human pain, / The name of human you cannot retain. / Saadi “Of one Essence is the human race, / thus has Creation put the base; / One Limb impacted is sufficient / For all Others to feel the Mace ” / —Saadi (1184–1283) “There is only one sacred manuscript, the sacred manuscript of Nature, which alone can enlighten the reader.” Hazrat Inayat Khan All profits from my sales will be donated to Butterfly Conservation. The butterfly and birds were taken from my painting “Thoughts and Things” and the white flower is an old plastic earring….the teapot was given to me by my father who knows I collect tiny silver things like this…..from an op shop somewhere, thank you dad! The table is a cork! Once the Chunkies are created and photographed, I usually dismantle them to be used in the creation of more chunkies, so I am recycling the plasticine. These Chunkies have been very therapeutic to create over the holidays, whilst taking a break from red bubble and having my family around. I have many more to come, and although I won’t be on RB as much, I hope to also be doing some serious painting this year…so i look forward 2009 with much anticipation …
