I have also used a variety of found objects, including lace and ribbons…and an especially beautiful gold paint for the wings which were underpainted first to created texture. On of my favourite paintings, my heart and soul went into this piece…two sweet little girls in darling dresses hanging out in the garden together….what could be nicer.

My work was featured in the group Video Montage / ( Thanks Muscular Teeth and Butchart ) Airbrushed and mixed media on canvas Excerpt from “Abigail’s Friends” written by Anthony Hedger illustrated by Carrie Glenn. ...“I think we better go back now.” She whispered to the butterfly. / “Why?” The butterfly asked. “It’s only my friends and they are having a special tea party just for you, come on and I’ll introduce you to them.” / “Er, ok, if you think I’ll be alright?” / “Of course you’ll be alright.” The red fox called to her. “Come on your tea is getting cold.” / So for the next two hours Abigail sat with Mr. Fox, Mr. Bear, Miss Rabbit, Ms. Blue bird and a hundred different butterflies and had tea and cake and chatted as though she had known them all her life. / ‘Asian Series’ card by Karin Taylor Catch of the Day is a sweet little painting done in mixed media…using ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels. I had so much fun creating this little character, and dressing her in a fur coat and beanie. She is being drawn along by her dolphin friend and a butterfly has thought to come visit too. Catch of the Day was inspired by a children’s book I used to read to my children when they were little, my brother gave it them. It’s a great story called ‘The Hottest Boy Who Ever Lived’ the illustrations by Kim Gamble I think are awesome. The little girl is very much like me, she loves to fish with a bamboo fishing pole, wriggly worm attached! I also love to fish out in the open ocean with my pa.. hence it also has a smidge of sentimental value.

She is disabled by Rickets, a disease that is caused by lack of Vitamin [D]. the village is in extreme poverty and cannot grow enough food, and what they do grow is not good quality. Mary’s upper and Lower limbs are bowed and twisted. She has lost most of her feelings in her hands. she has intestinial worms, and her natural imune system is almost down. She is in constant pain yet Mary can live a productive and happy life, with our help. If Mary was ypur Daughter, I am sure you would take her to the best Doctors, adn give her the best food, and care fore her. Yet Mary only has an old grandmother to care for her. Her grandmother is weak and also unable to do basic things. Please help us to Help mary and the many like her. You can be part of her life and those like her.
