I have also used a variety of found objects, including lace and ribbons…and an especially beautiful gold paint for the wings which were underpainted first to created texture. On of my favourite paintings, my heart and soul went into this piece…two sweet little girls in darling dresses hanging out in the garden together….what could be nicer.

I have used ink, acrylic, charcoal and pastels to create Geisha Girl. The original painting is no longer available, but so glad she can come to you in the form of a greeting card. The Sea Venture was one of the first ships to arrive in Bermuda. It was thrown accidentally off course by a hurricane and landed on the reefs intact. Its original course was with a fleet from England headed towards / Jamestown, Virginia to aid in the colonization. From being shipwrecked, the crew and passengers of the Sea Venture settled in Bermuda and benefitted from its tropical paradise and set up a small colony. This painting is a Mixed Media piece, combining original digital photography taken in Bermuda by SBC, painting, and drawing. It is intended to capture the natural and surreal beauty of Bermuda. It won an Honorable Mention Award in the Rowayton Art Show in 2006 and First Place in the Darien Art Show in 2007.

Numerous Ball point pens and watercolour pencils. I did this 8 years ago whilst traveling, / Although I have come some way since then it is still one of my fav’s. / Also reminds me that I should get out there again :D

Included in the mix are moulding paste for the eggs, gold and bronze paint, silver thread, fabric, charcoal, ink, pastel and acrylic with a gloss varnish over the eggs. / There is a poem in the background in gold cursive handwriting, which reads: Hidden Treasure Golden eggs are not always easy to find / Sometimes they lay hidden in the pockets of our seams / Sometimes we have to look beyond the obvious to see / the beauty in others~ traits of kindness, compassion, nurture and / gentleness are not always obvious at first glance and / what one may perceive as a fault or weakness / may actually be a great strength.
