Made after a conversation with my friend David about how he thinks that working is a form of theft. Thanks also to my muse kez for her curatorial suggestions here. / . / . / Based on a photograph released by the Huddersfield University precision technology centre of an ant carrying a 1mm square microchip. / . / . / See Worker Ant – Part 2 / . /
Slowly life starts in the morning, as the sun rises and stretches out along the Eastern Plains of Colorado…..I have to tell ya all I really am enjoying where I have moved to, out here in the country. The photo-opps are so numerous, it is insane. This one captured right up the road from me, overlooking the E-470 Tollway. I really don’t do much in the way of long exposure, but perhaps it is time I start doing them more often :) Thoughts welcomed! / —John / —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com / All artwork is © John De Bord, All Rights Reserved. I was walking in Downtown Tribeca, NY last week when I looked up at this old building. It seems vacant and I had the sneaking suspicion that it would be gutted and totally redone. I imagined this old ad on the building would be gone—and so I shot it immediately. I see it as a historical view of Old New York. I did a bit of selective coloring play to get the message across more clearly. :)

As it clearly evident from my portfolio, shooting bees is a favorite subject matter. I am always trying to get shots where I can accurately depict this tiny insect in its natural environment….yet providing you the opportunity to see them close up and in person. This shot was taken at the Fort Worth Botanical Garden on May 29, 2009. – Dennis
