Unusual for me in my landscape work. see if you can spot them. did I mention that this is an infrared photo ? just in case you hadn’t worked it out. :) this is it framed

  • Well this sure caught me by surprise! I didn’t think original signs like this still existed, well, in Georgetown, Colorado they apparently still do! Needless to say, I had to get a few shots. • I was walking in Downtown Tribeca, NY last week when I looked up at this old building. It seems vacant and I had the sneaking suspicion that it would be gutted and totally redone. I imagined this old ad on the building would be gone—and so I shot it immediately. I see it as a historical view of Old New York. I did a bit of selective coloring play to get the message across more clearly. :)

  • This is my personal dedication to one of the best night’s out Melbourne had to offer in the late 90s – mid 00s. The night, by the same name, was held at Room680, in Hawthorn. It was the home to some of the best DJs and music at the time, and became a place of great memories for me today. The original Japanese Kanji characters were taken from a poster in a back alley in Chinatown, Melbourne. The two characters represent anarchy and chaos. Filled the background with a deep red, added a dusty, scratchy layer, then a splattered paint layer, faded both slightly. Two layers of the same broken glass on top of that. Then a bit of tweaking and contrast adjustment to get this rather vibrant, if not slightly crazy looking piece. The night itself was nothing short of crazy, busy, active and fun. Kinda gave you the energy to run out and throw yourself through a window.. but in a good way! Themed loosely around Japanese underground electronica clubs. Thanks Teriyakianarkisaki for a great few years of fun!
