I love the feel of this Frangipani shot. Different, unusual, talking point. What photography, art should be. Paul red bubble Lyman Frank Baum fine art photography / macro photography
this is one of a series of three. This one is for a commission. Knowing a little about the person, besides knowing he likes red, and abstract, and loads of texture, he’s also gone through big change in his life (new business, going well, old relationship ended) One of the things he loves in his business is seeing a ‘situation’ and cleaning it up to be fresh, sparkling and better than expected. Bearing this in mind, the surface of the canvas was highly textured. There is loads of ‘chaos’ that is steam rolled through, leaving a shining path. It is a visual reminded of his efforts of the day, and the mark he leaves on the world. It is vision of happiness, a job well done, a tribute to freedom and moving forward. I have amped up the colour so it looks great in print.

Local Monterey wine merchant, hoping to boost business, asked me to make some paintings for him. I had a great time doing these three posters, this is a close up.

I’ve Had A Busy Day © Vicki Ferrari Sully, my cat…Waking up but it looks as though he is really tired (he probably is!). Poor bugger, he has to live with me! That would be enough to make anyone tired! (no comment required on that one!!!) It makes me want to yawn when I look at this photo! / Does it make you want to yawn too?! / Vicki Purchase Card /
The bees were having such a good time in the echinacea flowers that they didn’t notice the lens of my little Ricoh pocket camera almost on their backs…lucky me! 9.6mm / 1/176 sec / F 4.6 / ISO 100 / Capilo R5 as is!

This is my personal dedication to one of the best night’s out Melbourne had to offer in the late 90s – mid 00s. The night, by the same name, was held at Room680, in Hawthorn. It was the home to some of the best DJs and music at the time, and became a place of great memories for me today. The original Japanese Kanji characters were taken from a poster in a back alley in Chinatown, Melbourne. The two characters represent anarchy and chaos. Filled the background with a deep red, added a dusty, scratchy layer, then a splattered paint layer, faded both slightly. Two layers of the same broken glass on top of that. Then a bit of tweaking and contrast adjustment to get this rather vibrant, if not slightly crazy looking piece. The night itself was nothing short of crazy, busy, active and fun. Kinda gave you the energy to run out and throw yourself through a window.. but in a good way! Themed loosely around Japanese underground electronica clubs. Thanks Teriyakianarkisaki for a great few years of fun! Alley behind some businesses in Pigeon Michigan. There are always some treasures to shoot if you just walk behind the buildings. Nikon D90 / 18-200 mm VR Lens
I took my first real walk all around Pigeon yesterday and couldn’t believe the things I found and that I had missed before, usually I am driving..stop..shoot..back in the car, this time on foot..I took about 400 pictures, this window caught my eye, for one the vibrant red bricks and the decorative window, just looked cool..
