The sun sets on the African bush.
With the sun going down, the smoke from the bush fires just rolled across the Derwent River in Hobart Tasmania, Australia. / An eerie but beautiful sight.

We took a drive to the other side of the park to see the ducks and geese….poor little guys, they stay here all winter because people feed them all during the warmer months even though there are signs all over saying not to….I wonder if those same people venture out of their warm homes to feed them, when their ponds are frozen and they are hungry. / . / . I had to nab a shot of these shadows at sunset and you can see some of the little guys in the background. / .. / . / . / . / . / . / . / . / . . . / . / . / . / Landscape photography….cheap kodak digital camera…set to landscape and added a small touch of shadow…he he he. Wish I had the fancy stuff but not too bad anyway huh ? (crosses fingers). Maybe after Christmas I’ll get my hands on one and begin to learn what all the talk is.
The dark colors in this shot kept reminding me of Gotham City and how it always seemed dark and colorless there. Taken in the exact same place as Hanging By a Moment, a bush right outside my front door.
Drove up here after a long day of taking photos hoping to catch a good sunset, ended up being pretty good. A composite of 15 images if you include the 3 shots taken to make each HDR photo. Stitched together using photoshop and did a bit of touching up in Lightroom. Sales 1 Matted Print 1 Poster On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. Hot Bush Sunset / Olympus sp-55ouz
MUCH BETTER VIEWED LARGER Welcome to my latest work , for those commenting and if i am lucky favouriting thank you for dropping in ! This shot was taken on my recent travels south , had a great time wandering around Albury on my way back from Victoria. At Albury Wodonga, the Hume Highway, Australia’s busiest national transport corridor, crosses the Murray. For many years, Albury Wodonga has been singled out by travellers to break their journey overland from Melbourne to Sydney. In fact, Hamilton Hume and William Hovell passed through the area in 1824 and the famous ‘Hovell Tree’, in which Hovell carved his initials, still stands on the banks of the Murray River at Albury. Albury is lucky to be located on the magnificent Murray River. AlburyCity has a series of parks along the River’s edge with picnic and barbecue facilities. A two metre wide shaded walking/cycling trail runs through the parks, and has links to other trail networks throughout Albury and into Wodonga. Why not take a break at the outdoor Riverdeck Café in Noreuil Park. There’s a children’s playground, and the Noreuil Park foreshore is a favourite swimming spot if the weather is right. This shot was taken with 5 bracketted images around sunset, the camera Nikon D300, using a Sigma 10-20mm lens. The image processed using Photomatix Pro with a tidy up with Capture NX. Gerroa is an idyllic village at the Kiama end of Seven Mile Beach on the south coast of New South Wales … their sunset on Tuesday (6 January 08) was aided by smoke haze from bushfires in the Morton National Forest. After a day in which temperatures reached 40 degrees celsius and beyond, there were plenty of relaxed holiday-makers still enjoying the ambience, the breeze and the spectacular skies. Featured on RB’s Art page, in Live Love Dream Group, A Magic Place and Australian Travel Photography and Writing Groups Jan 09 Voted in the Top 10 of the Sunset Silhouette Challenge Jan 09 My Bubblesite also shows works in categories. Arches National Park Sunset in Moab Utah. As I walked down the trail from the Delicate Arch the sun began to set behind the range of mountains in the distance. The sight was truly magnificent. Shot taken with a Nikon D60, 18-55 Nikkor VR lens.
Silhouette art of a tree being viewed through the bushes. Single coloured design.
Sounds of Then / (This is Australia) I think I hear the sounds of then, / And people talking, / The scenes recalled, by minute movement, / And songs they fall, from the backing tape. / That certain texture, that certain smell, To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets, / In brick veneer on financed beds. / In a room, of silent hardiflex / That certain texture, that certain smell, / Brings home the heavy days, / Brings home the the night time swell, Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think, this is Australia. The block is awkward – it faces west, / With long diagonals, sloping too. / And in the distance, through the heat haze, / In convoys of silence the cattle graze. / That certain texture, that certain beat, / Brings forth the night time heat. Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think that this is Australia. To lie in sweat, on familiar sheets, / In brick veneer on financed beds. / In a room of silent hardiflex / That certain texture, that certain smell, / Brings forth the heavy days, / Brings forth the night time sweat / Out on the patio we’d sit, / And the humidity we’d breathe, / We’d watch the lightning crack over canefields / Laugh and think, this is Australia. / This is Australia….......
