Myrtle beech forest at Tarra Bulga State Forest, Victoria, Australia. This photo was taken up near where the Gippsland fires had burnt in Feb 2009. Luckily The park didnt really get touched bar the spot fire near the information building/rangers office. Tarra Bulga National Park surived the Black saturday fires and still stands though a few kilometres down the road it is a different story all together from the top of Mount Tassie right to the bottom of the mountain everything has been wiped out including peoples homes, farms, vechiles, communication towers, forest plantations etc.

Another infrared shot from watermead park in Leicestershire. The other magical thing about IR is that it works best when its stinking hot! The reults you get make you think that you had just photographed the hardest frost ever!

Arches National Park Sunset in Moab Utah. As I walked down the trail from the Delicate Arch the sun began to set behind the range of mountains in the distance. The sight was truly magnificent. Shot taken with a Nikon D60, 18-55 Nikkor VR lens.

It rained over two inches today and the wind was downright nasty. So of course, I decided to take a stroll through Bandon Park in the heart of Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Light was practically nonexistent, but the downpour had just ended, so I mounted my camera on the ol’ tripod and started shootin’ up a storm. Turns out, it was a much more beautiful autumn evening than I ever could have hoped for! The city of Williamsport owns this beautiful park and it is meticulously maintained by our Parks & Recreation Department. The leaves will all be gathered and will be used to make a wonderfully rich mulch. The mulch is used by the city and is also made available to local residents in the spring for their gardening needs. A Canon EOS 10D DSLR body, fitted with a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L Zoom lens. The lens was set to its 24mm focal length. The camera’s shutter speed was 1/6th sec at f/8. ISO was set to 400. This photograph was taken on a Manfrotto tripod. Your comments are always welcome! Constructive criticism is appreciated. © 2009 Gene Walls All copyright and reproduction rights are retained by the artist.
