Earlier today (except, by now, it was actually yesterday), I used my dad’s digital camera to capture several images of the persimmons in the side yard., for the stock art group. Those were the inspiration for this digital painting; along with another picture of persimmons, which I had googled up whilst attempting to determine if, indeed, persimmons is what they were. This is not a copy or a simple manipulation of any of the pictures, by the way. I know people get confused on that issue, when it comes to digital art: There was some photo manipulation, at the beginning, to get things set for the proper model, but, in the end, this is a painting. / .............. I have uploaded several details of this painting, for the sake of quashing a very silly bout of arguing and me being insulted. There are also the persimmon photos I uploaded, one of which was used as a model for this painting. They are in my gallery.

I couldn’t resist photographing this pair of waratahs, they were absolutely perfect specimens. These were photographed near Mt Victoria in the Blue Mountains of NSW, Australia in an area that was totally destroyed by the bushfire of November 2006. The entire area is now flourishing with spring blooms and new growth. Telopea speciosissima / (plant family: Proteaceae) More information on the NSW Waratah can be found here

Ever imagined what can be taking place in the shelves of your bedroom? Small kids these days have more fun with videogames, but they should be encouraged to use hands and brain and play around… and not given a laptop when they are 3. Just my 2 cents. Paper, watercolours, smurfs, aliens, clay, lightbulbs, pins, gluttack, one of the 2000 Hubbie’s cd racks. Thanks Albert Heijn for the baby smurfs. Thanks my Grumpy for giving me the space and the rack to free my mind.
This is one of a bunch of roses given to me, from my partner for our wedding anniversary!
