Australia Day on Lake Burley Griffin, ACT, Aust. / Lake Burley Griffin is an artificial lake in the centre of Canberra. It was created in 1963 after the Molonglo River, which ran between the city centre and Parliamentary Triangle, was dammed. It is named after Walter Burley Griffin, the architect who won the design competition for the city of Canberra

In Canberra, on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin, a Japanese Garden has been created to honour the sister city relationship with a Japanese City. In the late afternoon sun it looked stunning. Oh, and if you live in Canberra or know the name of the sister city, please let me know! I think I do, but am not sure. Thanks heaps!
