This is a painting of a man who was called John Burke, an uncle of mine. He died a few years back- I tried to capture an essence of the man here, in his prime, although his days here are past. / Original was completed with watercolor and gouache media on Arches cold-press cotton rag.

In 1898 John Dick carved the face of explorer Burke onto the trunk of this tree.(Burke and Wills both perished here on Cooper Creek). The carving is on a coolabah tree not far from The Dig Tree on the Cooper Creek, Outback Queensland Australia.

Milly Centerfold the new teacher at Ockerroo desires to teach her school kids and the rest of Australia a lesson in how to save the environment. / Mostly this involves up close and personal hugging of wild emus…...which later transforms into a highly successful mode of individual transportation. Sadly Milly, thanks to Clappers, is about to discover crass capitalism wins again. Still Milly is not about to get her pink Woolies in a knot and Matthieu is about to rediscover shoes and shaving.
