Horses / Tori Amos I got me some horses / To ride on, to ride on / They say that your demons can’t go there / So I got me some horses / To ride on, to ride on / As long as your army keeps perfectly still And maybe I’ll find me a sailor / A tailor / And maybe together we’ll make mother well / So I got me some horses / To ride on, to ride on / As long as your army / Keeps perfectly still You showed me the meadow / And Milkwood and Silkwood / And you would if I would / But you never would / So I chased down your posies / Your pansies in my hosies / Then opened my hands and they were empty then Off with Superfly / Sniffing a Sharpie pen / Honey it’s Bill and Ben / Off with Superfly / Counting your bees / Oh me honey like / One two three / The camera is rolling / It’s easy like one, two, three And if there is a way to find you / I will find you / But will you find me if Neil makes me a tree / An afro, a pharaoh / I can’t go, you said so / And threads that are golden don’t break easily I got me some horses / To ride on, to ride on / They say that your demons can’t go there / So I got me some horses / To ride on, to ride on / As long as your army keeps perfectly still

From the time I learned how to read I’ve been accused of always having my nose in a book. These books were on the shelves in my parent’s home and I remember working my way through them as a teenager, some more interesting to me than others. Pride And Prejudice was a favourite with me from the very first word. Elizabeth Bennett, her dreadful mother and the wondrous Mr. D’Arcy have all been ‘friends’, as most characters in books have been to me. So this photograph is something of an homage to my old friends in Regency England. :-)

I used to dislike the colors in this rhody – for many years – UNTIL I began taking pictures of it. Now it is one of my favorites to photograph!

Fractal made in UltraFractal5 and texturing added in Photoshop CS with Redfield Craquelure3d plugin. This actually started out as an attempt to make a fractal dragon, but the fractal kept looking more like flowers with each attempt. I finally gave up and let the fractal speak for itself, giving it my own twist in Photoshop. I love my new Craquelure 3D plugin! Featured in the DIGITAL ABSTRACTS AND PATTERNS group.

Detail of the St John the Baptist window in Cologne Cathedral. Frederick I Barbarossa (1122 – 10 June 1190) was elected King of Germany at Frankfurt on 4 March 1152 and crowned in Aachen on 9 March, crowned King of Italy in Pavia in 1154, and finally crowned Holy Roman Emperor by Pope Adrian IV on 18 June 1155. He was crowned King of Burgundy at Arles on 30 June 1178. The name Barbarossa came from the northern Italian cities he attempted to rule, and means “red beard”. He went on the Third Crusade and died 10 June 1190… / His army was approaching Antioch from Armenia and Frederick had gone to the river Saleph to bathe when he drowned in it.
