Years ago, I found this prayer by an unknown author and have cherished it ever since. I’ve coupled it with a photo I took at Cypremort Point off of Vermilion Bay on the coast of Louisiana. I think deep waters are appropriately symbolic of our hearts and souls and sometimes we have to plunge into their depths, or better still invite the Lord to come there with us, to bring to the surface anything that needs to be revealed for our healing and wholeness and happiness. I think this is a cleansing prayer for the conscience which needs to be visited regularly under the loving presence of God. I hope this blesses someone today.

Thought of the Day - Rid Yourself of Burdens

It’s easy to blame someone else for your troubles. Yet when you’re truly honest with yourself, it’s clear that blaming someone else will not add the slightest bit of value to your life. / It seems fair and reasonable to expect your problems to be solved by the people who caused them, but stop and think about it. Do you really wish to give those people who caused your problems any additional control over your life and your future? To move your life in the direction you choose to go, you must be willing to take full responsibility for it. That means moving past what’s easy and accepting that things are not always going to be fair. Perhaps life has given you a burden you don’t deserve. Instead of seeing that as an excuse to give up, see it as an opportunity to give more. Though you may not have brought the troubles upon yourself, you can nevertheless make positive use of them. Choose to take full responsibility for your own situation, and you’ll begin to see how you can rise from it to a level that’s higher than ever before. Real success does not result from everything going perfectly. Real success comes when you’re willing to move forward no matter what may happen. KEEP SMILING, KEEP MOVING FORWARD :)

This lady was trying to sell carved wooden statues on the side of the road in Spain, in 40 degree heat. She looked weary and tired of the task but no doubt has a family to feed. I thought she would be a great candid – the colour and patterns of her fabric and earrings intrigued me and the lighting was perfect. this is my ghana; the ghana where women build the nation balancing work, motherhood and responsibility with feminine grace. the ghana where the infinite inner strength of its women reigns with the peace and tranquillity of their confidence of success. the ghana that carries all her burdens and never gives up, but just keeps looking ahead.
