I am quite speechless this morning! I have a very good friend who is a fantastic writer – I love reading her stuff, even though it does feel very intimate to read the writings of a close friend – don’t know why. Anyway, she belongs to a group which always has great sounding challenges, and I love reading the stuff she writes for them (very successfully I might add!). This particular challenge was to write something truly awful, and some of the entries really had me tickled, and as the days wore on a truly awful sentence of the most ‘excruciating pap’ (as one reviewer noted!) evolved in my head, so I had a stab at it: Lakeside Love This morning I heard that I came second, with my mate Miri one vote behind in third! I am really excited – although I’m going to take a while to decide how I feel about only being the second crappest in my very first writing competition – is that good or bad? But anyway, a hearty thanks to everyone in Flash Fiction for humouring the musings of a first time entrant! Oh – and I am now over 1000 views – a small milestone, but a significant one for me!
