This is Ferguson Fearnaught, our English Bulldog. He is 5 years old in this picture. He has been very popular so we had to upload some pictures of his sister, Hazel. Please don’t miss them: / Daddy’s Little Angel / Canadian Bacon / Hazel /
It’s hard to beat shooting in the wilds of Africa, going at it for days using subjects over which you have absolutely no control, then finally coming away with something that makes it all worthwhile! The weekend was looking pretty bad (photography wise) until my neigbour introduced me to Ted. I fell in love immediately – my friends know I’m a sucker for a puppy or kitten. Ted is a 10 week old cross Pug Cavalier.
Just a little guy!

Bull Elephant – Mpumalanga, South Africa
This picture was not taken on the African plains as I would prefer, it was taken while visiting a local outfitting store in Fort Worth, Texas. Nonetheless, the diorama of the African plains was breathtaking and worthy of being captured through my lens. – dennisjstewart@yahoo.com

Just a few miles inside Yellowstone is an area that attracts the mature bulls during the winter. On a lucky Friday the 13th recently I encounter a group of five large bulls. They provided this rare group picture opportunity though not without challenge as they were hanging about half mile off the road necessitating a hike with full gear through crusty snow which at times rose to mid thigh. (Uploaded especially for my new friend Mike Scholl. You must check out his work – brilliant!) 75×100 x 3.8cm Acrylic on Canvas. There is an exhibition coming up and I have been asked to submit 8 pieces of figurative work. I thought I had completed this last September but it’s just bugged me! Anyway last week I decided to work on it again. So, originally we had this (rather unattractive boring red head) / / and with a few alterations we now have this much more friendly gal.
A fiery-tempered bull in shades of red, gold, bronze and brown
This is a puppy called Uno. He is an “American” Pit Bull Terrier. I was splitting a litter with a girl who got his Mom from me in 2008. Tragically he was the only puppy of 11 who survived. He is now in a wonderful home with a Mom and Dad and 3 kids who just adore him. His breed is truly American, and little Uno was Made In America! :)) / FEATURED IN CATS AND DOGS / FEATURED IN COUNTRY BUMPKIN / FEATURED IN THE APBT LOVERS GROUP / FEATURED IN OUR K9 FRIEND / FEATURED IN THE SCAVENGER HUNT PLACED IN THE TOP 10 IN THE PATRIOTIC PET CHALLENGE – PETS ARE US CHALLENGE WINNER – OUR 4TH OF JULY PETS – IN PAWS N CLAWS / / Also available in a T-Shirt HERE

another of the orange morning of the apocalypse shots I took early this morning and there is a seaview but you may have to just trust me on that… it’s out there in the orangeness aways…. / . / . /
I always wanted a “classic” kind of Elk shot, where one can see the steam coming out of their nose and mouth after the Bugle, with snow falling and such, and I think I finally was able to get it ! He gave us a lot of good shots, I will say that! Rocky Mountain National Park, Colorado Minolta 5D & Tamron 200-400mm lens
...the second sign of the Zodiac – / Your element: Earth / Your ruling planets: Venus / Symbol: The Bull / Your stone: Emerald / Life Pursuit: Emotional and financial security / Vibration: Determined energy / Taurus Secret Desire: To have a secure, happy and wealthy life/marriage….signs / The Sun is in Taurus between about 20th April to 20th May. / Placid, calm and contented, the bull in the meadow will enjoy the sun on his back and good food to eat, and he’ll tolerate annoying flies, and even people walking through his field…just so far…but try and make him move when he doesn’t want to and you might as well try until Doomsday. The Bull of the Zodiac is the same. If your Sun is in Taurus, you are peace-loving and reliable, your business will prosper and you’ll be practical and tolerant. But no-one in their right mind should try and make you change yours. And, just as the bull in the field will charge unexpectedly one day, so the rare rage of a Taurean is fearful to behold. / If Taurus was rising when you were born, you’re not going to rush out there. You’ll take your time, think before deciding anything, and you’ll want to stick with what you know. But people will love to rely on you, and when you find your mate you’ll be passionate and protective. .. /
I picked a heck of a weekend to go back to RMNP looking for elk. A front had moved through the Front Range, bringing cold temps and snow – just the way I like it!! It’s a little late in the rut, so there weren’t a lot of crowds either (again, just the way I like it). The bad news was there were few elk, I saw no jousting, and there were few challengers. That didn’t stop this bull from responding to the few bellowed challenges issued by other bulls. This bull had a harem of less than a dozen cows, and was pretty relaxed having me photograph him. I was able to use the car as a blind and stay relatively warm and comfortable for the shoot – rare treat. Most of the time I’m out in the worst weather, struggling to stay warm and not get blown off a mountain summit. Another SP from my latest shoot with Richard Grebby ... We played around with different lighting set-ups for a little while until the smoke really started to show up in the shot… Lighting was positioned at around a 45 degree angle either side of me and slightly forward to gain the result..
