BABY BULL GETS FAMOUS!!! GRIFFITH REVIEW!! CLICK TO LEARN MORE / Sales of this Design? – 3 sales so far :) / / / Baby Bull Production is something I created not that long ago. It’s a mixed media piece on canvas textured paper…...i did it in response to the chilled out cows at Mullumbimby, northern New South Wales, who seem to be very laid back, i suspect they are indulging in the ‘other’ kind of grass also….... they have this real chilled look about them, and I’ve never seen cows anywhere else that have this way about them. I put it in the Casino Art Exhibition and it was the only painting that sold, every year a male school teacher goes to that show, or so the legend goes…....and purchases a piece…...it was my lucky year. Tonight I was asked if I’d ever sold a painting in a gallery…well, yes, and at exhibitions and privately. To date I believe I have sold between 30 and 40 original paintings, which I am very proud of…..in the early days 2002 I was very prolific, things have slowed down a bit with my painting now, because i am much more deliberate and take a lot of time to imbue my paintings with layers and love and depth…..it is just how i have grown as an artist, it is nice to report that there is growth along the journey…(and sales lol)!!! Somebody also has a print of these cows and loves them very much from what I understand lol

This illustration was created for an identity (logo) design but never used. No bullshit. Makes a pretty gutsy looking t-shirt though. There is a camel and a lizard created in the same style if anyone is interested.

On the wide open plains of the Kruger National Park, South Africa, we happened upon this large, lone bull. He seemed to be going somewhere, as he detoured around us slightly, wary of our clicking and whispering. When the brief encounter was over, we both went on our way, perhaps, I’d like to think, better for the meeting…

Captured along my travels… ok…. Alot of my descriptions begin that way so here is more info… LOL! Saturday morning walked to my nearest polling booths, voted and continued walking the streets of Brunswick. That is where I stumbled across this vehicular beauty!! The classic mythological beast of Greek lore, whom resides in the shadows. An allussion to the beast within the darkest recesses of us all that must be searched out, confronted, and slain. This guy actually just looks like he could use a break…. / Really it was part of my intention in this work to present the sort of monster that is melancholy; a darker beast of dimmer depths than it is often given credit for. / Original was done in watercolor and gouache media, on Arches cold-press 180lb. cotton rag.

Find me a cheekier beef horse than this, and I’ll gladly give you my favourite teapot. Detail, colour, taste and pure cheek – this cheeky cow’s got the lot. To quote what she said to me just after I took the picture: “Moo”. And you can’t argue with that. Proud of your kitchen? Imagine this beauty on your wall. As a picture, I mean. Not the actual cow.
