Bukowski Quote

The term socialization is used by sociologists, social psychologists and educationalists to refer to the process of learning one’s culture and how to live within it. For the individual it provides the skills and habits necessary for acting and participating within their society. For the society, inducting all individual members into its moral norms, attitudes, values, motives, social roles, language and symbols is the ‘means by which social and cultural continuity are attained’ My Direct Socialization motifes is all about the “direct” part of socialization.

I discovered Bukowski a few years a go and it was like a revelation to me. This guy is so chocking that everything he say become poetry, there’s a fantastic lyricism in his poetry and novels. I read them all, in a few month and always kept in mind this novel by Kerouac The Dharma Bums, that define him perfectly.

My Favourite Quote...

You don’t try. That’s very important: not to try, either for Cadillacs, creation or immortality. You wait, and if nothing happens, you wait some more. It’s like a bug high on the wall. You wait for it to come to you. When it gets close enough you reach out, slap out and kill it. Or if you like its looks, you make a pet out of it… Charles Bukowski I created an image of that old bastard of a genius named Buk… it’s coming…
