Please view the larger version for better visual effect !!! / Rising between the picturesque waters of Lake Monona and Lake Mendota, the majestic granite structure of Wisconsin’s Capitol building glows like a beacon, accenting the Madison skyline. And the inside of this building is simply stunning as well. This is an HDR image, which I took almost a year ago, and finally had the chance to finish. The first of a number of shots of the view from the top of the Empire State Building. I know shots of this type are a bit of a cliche but I like it! The viewing platform is on the 86th story…..thats 1453 feet! I was tempted to hock a lugi but my age got the better of me and I managed to restrain myself. Also….they blocked off a bit of the viewing platform because Patti Labelle was making an appearance….I got a shot of her too….and again had the lugi thought but the 8 foot body guard made me change my mind again….......

Taken from the top of the Rockefeller centre. I’m not very good with landscapes and cityscapes, but I’ve always wanted to go visit the city and get some black and white shots of it.

This is the beautiful stained glass at the rear top of the main staircase in an abandoned stately home. The images and depictation in it are to show the industry of the town it sits in around the time that the home was built.

The Empire State Building Manhattan~

Just 5 blocks from my apartment, this grand old building stands in the middle of a large park. The park is full of trees from around the world, brought here either as gifts or remembrances of historical events like the Civil War. Outside the back is a piece from one of the Twin Towers, linking my hometown to a place I’ve never been in a deeply moving manner. This shot with a slow shutter speed changed the look of the moon significantly: the image of the full moon in my gallery is this moon, this night, and within moments of this shot. I just don’t think it’s possible to get a good shot of this historic building in full darkness. While it’s lit up well, there are always spots that are either too bright or too dark and details don’t show well in either. Oh well, I love this old place and sooner or later someone is going to get all the vermin out of it so the rats can enjoy it in peace… :-D
