A window of an traditional country farm cottage in Ireland. Nice whitewashed wall on this shot..
Newtown the Brave is a Teeshirt for all people who love living in the inner city of Sydney or indeed the innercity of anywhere. The goths and the schoolies and the grannies and the punks and the professionals who all live in the wonderful suburb of Newtown in Sydney. Oi Newtown rules OK. If anyone wants one of these tees with the name of their own town on it then just bmail me and it shall be done. . /
This ruin just outside Burra in South Australia was made famous as the cover art of Midnight Oil’s classic 1986 album Diesel and Dust / While there are many ruins in this area – the gateway to the outback – this oneis the most photogenic due to its classic shape and relative completeness. The rolling hills in the background also make for a picturesque scene. Just don’t be tempted to jump the fence as an ominous “No Trespassing” sign leaves you in no doubt this is an inhospitable area not only for the original settlers, but pesky tourists as well, especially those with cameras!

Once someone’s pride and joy, now an abandoned wreck outside a ruined building in outback New South Wales.
Inside the old derelict stable i found at the weekend, seems to have been a shelter for sheep, judging by the amount of sheep droppings were inside!!
Long Beach Island, NJ / www.danadipasquale.com This shack has been near my childhood home since I can remember. It falls a little more every year, and recently was supposed to be torn down. But, the residents of the area rallied to get it declared a landmark because it was such a part of the way we recognized home. So I love this little guy. © Dana DiPasquale 2008. Whilst competing in a Rogaine in SW Western Australia my mate and I stumbled upon a deserted farmhouse and out buildings. Because we were camping overnight in roughly the same area I managed to get back the next morning to get a few shots. I only hope I can find my way back there as there are lots of shots to be made.

Abandoned Victorian summerhouse. I desaturated the original somewhat, then played about with contrast, colour filters and blending modes to bring outthe character of the building. I use PhotoImpact. This was taken on a Nikon d50.
The image has been created as an alternative to the popular and greatly exaggerated theory of global warming and its consequences. Since global warming activists predict a dramatic change of the planet’s surface in the nearest future, the Ice Age Premonition portrays our society in the new Ice Age. / Ice Age – A cold period marked by episodes of extensive glaciations alternating with episodes of relative warmth. Any geologic period during which thick ice sheets cover vast areas of land. Such periods of large-scale glaciations may last several million years and drastically reshape surface features of entire continents. A number of major ice ages have occurred throughout the Earth’s history; the most recent periods were during the Pleistocene Epoch. There have been at least four major ice ages in the Earth’s past. The last glacial period ended about ten thousand years ago. / Surrealism art prints / Digital art prints / Fantasy digital art wallpapers
A great turnout of Redbubblers met at Gladesville Mental Hospital this morning for some photo opportunities – this is a little nook in one of the delapidated buildings. Thanks to Philip and Kaz for organising the day. Gladesville Mental Hospital (formerly Tarban Creek Lunatic Asylum) operated from c.1838- Surviving records cover c.1822-1985 In 1838 the lunatic asylum was moved from Liverpool to Tarban Creek, Gladesville and the first patients were transferred from Liverpool Asylum and the Female Factory, Parramatta. It accepted patients from Victoria up until 1848 when the Yarra Bend asylum was opened. By the mid 1960s the institution was known simply as Gladesville Hospital. In 1993 premises at Gladesville Hospital and Macquarie Hospital were revoked as hospitals, and were amalgamated to form the Gladesville Macquarie Hospital. HDR image processed in Photomatix from a single jpeg (with 3 exposures 1/3) then finished in CS3. This was shot in Arlington, WA. One of my favorite pics and the most featured, viewed and favorited of my works here on RedBubble. Thank you! / Using Photoshop, I adjusted the levels and saturation to bring out the colors. Three separate images were composited: old barn ruins, rainbow with tree and clouds. Clone stamped out a telephone wire as well. Trying something new, experimenting with my images in the Orton Style. Shot this with my Kodak Easy Share point & shoot camera. Brought it into Photoshop and added layers and different blending options as well as blur and sharpen. An unoccupied house that’s falling to pieces in Speers Point, New South Wales. A few filters, effects and custom textures were applied in Paint Shop Pro to alter the colours and look of the original photograph.
Every Rainbow has a pot of gold at it’s end. As the storm passed the rainbow came out and lined up nicely on this small building left standing in paddocks between Millicent and Kingston in the South East, (Limestone Coast) region of South Australia. Canon 400D 18-55 with CIR Polarising filter.
Shot from a loft view within the Old Cellulose Factory near Millicent in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. It was as if the machinery had been swallowed up and buried in situ when they closed this magnificent old factory. Went out today with Biggzie for a scouting session within the factory in prelude to the photographic session to be finalised soon with Tony Ryan from Melbourne. PS: Happy birthday Biggzie!!! Canon 400D 18-55 three shot HDr processed in Photomatix.
Sorry for those who have seen this before. I have been having trouble uploading with images not appearing in people’s monitors. This is the fifth attempt with this shot. Image taken on a scouting trip with Biggzie for an upcoming workshop visit by Tony Ryan from melbourne. Interior third floor of the old Cellulose Paper Mill between Millicent and Snuggery in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. Canon 400D 15-55 lens three shot HDR in Photomatix.
Found this wonderful old unoccupied building at Rendelsham, (between Millicent and Beachport) in the Limestone Coast region of South Australia. Bright bold peeling red paint on the front door, offset by small flute corrugated iron walls. Surrounded by old rusted out cars, tins and a range of heritage items this place stands as a wonderful reminder of times past. Canon 400D 18-55 lens.

Suisinish is an abandoned village reached after a rough hour- long walk from Kilbride, near Torrin, Isle of Skye. / This old cottage is too modern to have been one of the dwellings where the folk were evicted to make way for the sheep, which were more profitable to the greedy landowners of the time. Many of the families were separated, and forced to emigrate to America, Canada, and Australia. / I cannot begin to feel their anguish. / There are many ruins scattered around the Brae (hillside), evidence of a thriving, close-knit community torn apart by human greed. Maybe this bulding was built early in the twentieth century, I have no idea and can find no information. / Back to the present….. / There was quite a wait for some usable light, a chilly fierce wind was blowing, rain was brewing, nothing new ! We sat in the shelter of one of those deserted ruins, eating a cheese piece, ( sandwich ) and a cheering cup of hot coffee from the thermos, reflecting on how ‘they’ lived then, compared to us nowadays, and watching the sheep that are now the only inhabitants of this beautiful place. / Rowan trees were planted in the belief they kept evil spirits away, and it is considered very bad luck to cut one down, even today ! This cottage is surrounded by them, I guess the magic didn’t work. A three shot HDR. CanonEOS 40D mounted on tripod, iso 100, auto wb, f22, RAW files converted in Photomatix, and touched up in Adobe CS3. / A little Orton also applied to ‘pop’ the texture of the stone. / A slight vignette added.
