A pencil drawing of the New york skyline by Brooklyn Bridge. This took over a year to draw…and I enjoyed every second :)
World Trade Center a few months before 9/11, New York, USA
This isn’t a shot of a building that I flipped in Photoshop. It’s designed to look this way if you stand in the corner and shoot almost straight up. I did take a bit of tweaking as it’s not designed to be perfectly symmetrical. One wing of the building is shorter than the other. It’s a really well designed building with a wonderful abstract quality. Love the skyscrapers of MIdtown Manhattan.

A late night view of the New York City skyline and the Hudson River.
A snowy morning in Bryant Park in Manhattan.
I was inspired by the contrast and affect of soft, quieting snow to busy city life and its bold structures. This was mainly painted using a palette knife and heavily textured with impasto. While taking my nephew around midtown Manhattan, we walked past this building. I have walked by this building several times before but never actually looked up. (Perhaps because I was in a hurry!) This time however I did and thankfully had my camera with me. (I thanked my nephew for being so patient with me.) I didn’t even notice the lights until later that night since I was trying to capture the whole building and not fall backwards.
